Sale-a-bration 2017 is LIVE – sort of

Sale-a-bration 2017 is LIVE – sort of. What do I mean by that? Well, today is the first day that you can order from the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues from which I’ve been teasing you with sneak peeks, BUT there is so much attempted activity, that the Stampin’ Up! servers are down globally. So, although everything is live, we can’t actually order quite yet. I’m sure that their IT department is working furiously to fix this, but for now, we have to be patient. Obviously I can’t update the catalog links until the site is back, nor can I get a new workshop code.

But, I can explain Sale-a-bration whilst we’re waiting! Sale-a-bration is a really exciting part of the year and in three ways.

  • For every $50 that you spend in product (not including taxes and shipping) from today until March 31st, you get to pick a free item from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. In fact, you can’t even buy the Sale-a-bration items, you can only get them for free.
  • If you host a party or just order yourself and your order gets to $250 or more, not only will you earn free Sale-a-bration items, your Stampin’ Rewards (read – more free items) are increased by an extra $25. So at exactly $250, you’d get 5 Sale-a-bration items and $50 of Stampin’ Rewards. At $300, you’d get 6 sale-a-bration items and $61 in Stampin’ Rewards. It’s too good a deal to miss.
  • But if your order is even close to $90, it makes more sense to join the Stampin’ Up! family. Joining during Sale-a-bration gets you more product in your totally customisable starter kit. For just $99 you get to choose $125 in product and it ships for free. So that’s saving you $38.50 right there. On top of that, you also get to select two stamp sets completely free which is a value of up to $104 more depending upon which sets you pick. And if you never want to buy another thing, that’s totally fine, there’s no penalty. But if you continue and sell/buy $300 per quarter (not including this one) you get at least a 20% discount on all your supplies, the chance to order new things a month early, an exclusive magazine, the chance to go to Stampin’ Up! events and more. You might even find that you remove a lifelong belief that you’re not creative. I know I did!

I’ll add another sneak peek post whilst you’re waiting.

See you later,

Beautiful You for my make and take

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m holding a catalog launch on Wednesday (also on Monday 9th) and today I’m sharing one of the make and takes. I love the Beautiful You stamp set – it’s so simple, has elegant lines and you can make a super card with very little effort. Perfect for a make and take!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Beautiful You

So, here we have a very simple elegant card using the Beautiful You stamp set which will be available for purchase tomorrow. I stamped the image using the archival basic black and added the watercolour like wash in emerald envy using the same colour for the sentiment. I also put the piece of whisper white onto a card base of emerald envy. I hope that my launch stampers like it.

Don’t forget the great close out sale currently going on and also the offer from me (both ending TODAY!)- a new, free stamp set. Just spend $40 with me and use the workshop code CBUJ4GTP, and you get to select one of Hey, Chick, Delicate Details or Designer Tee which I’ll send you for free once I close out this workshop this evening. Check here for the details and also pictures of these stamp sets. If you spend $60, I’ll send you the pearl or rhinestone basic jewels as well. Email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com to let me know which of the sets you’d like and whether you’d like pearls or rhinestones (if you’ve earned them), or I’ll just select one at random.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get free product; the current one is CBUJ4GTP (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free gift from me). Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies

I’m not really sure how this card evolved; I meant to play with the large single dragonflies that are part of the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies but somehow I had the five little ones cut out of gold foil before I knew what had happened! It’s a really fun bundle. I tried the Falling in Love DSP that I used yesterday but finally settled on a piece from the Serene Scenery DSP stack.

I glued the piece of DSP to an island indigo card base before doing the embossing. I’m not sure that it would be so easy to emboss on DSP – possible, yes since I’ve embossed on more delicate vellum before, but I figured it would be easier to handle with the card base supporting it. The sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set which is bundled with the dies. Then to finish, all I had to do was to glue on the gold foil dragonflies – again using the silicon mat and a sponge dauber.

I’m excited for the official start of the Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration on Wednesday. I’m holding a launch party with make and takes and refreshments which should be really fun. If you’re close to Randolph, NJ and would like to attend, drop me an email.

Of course the beginning of Sale-a-bration means that the great close out sale currently going on is almost ending – tomorrow in fact is the last day. That’s also the case with the offer from me – a new, free stamp set. Just spend $40 with me and use the workshop code CBUJ4GTP, and you get to select one of Hey, Chick, Delicate Details or Designer Tee which I’ll send you for free once I close out this workshop on January 3rd. So Detailed Thinlits Dies

I decided to have some fun today and pulled out my new So Detailed Thinlits Dies. I didn’t have any sort of card in mind but it became a celebration card which seems fitting for the first day of 2017. Not only did I play with the beautiful new dies, I used the new Falling in Love designer series paper and matching stamp set, So in Love. It’s all part of the new Falling in Love suite. I love the bokeh look of the paper, so beautiful.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - So Detailed Thinlits Dies - So in Love - Falling in Love DSP

I took the colours for my card from the DSP – blushing bride and sahara sand – and cut the flowers using the So Detailed Thinlits dies. Next I stamped my sentiment in sahara sand onto a piece of blushing bride and originally I intended to have the banner cover the complete width of the card, but it just didn’t look right. So I figured out where I wanted the banner and cut the end of it off with the So Detailed Thinlits Dies so that it would match up perfectly. I then took my blushing bride cut out and snipped off the part that helps you use this to make a wrap around card and glued it onto the edge of my piece of DSP. Since it’s a detailed die cut, I used my sponge dauber and silicone mat with the multi purpose glue to gently dab glue onto the die cut eradicating any oozing. After attaching this to a blushing bride card base, I glued on my banner, matching up the cut outs. I love how this came out.

Happy New Year

As 2016 draws to a close, I thought I’d take a look back at my most pinned projects from the year. I notice that a lot of them are Paper Pumpkin alternates which I was going to remove from my list since people it suggests that people specifically look for alternates, but they are still cards that I made and were very popular. I was also interested to see that projects I made with the Detailed Floral Thinlits dies featured highly bearing in mind the number that I’m showing. Starting with the least pinned of my most pinned we have one of my personal favourites, a card I made for my brother’s birthday featuring the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies. Click on any of the photos to go to the original posts.

Then we move to some of the Paper Pumpkin alternates

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin February 2016 Alternate - Hello Sunshine

Here’s one that I put together pretty quickly, I really liked the simplicity of it and it appears that a lot of other people did too.

And the very popular floral thinlits dies

The final three all have been pinned over 600 times, which is humbling and amazing to me.

And here’s my most pinned card, currently with 691 pins. This was using supplies from March’s paper pumpkin.

I hope that you enjoyed the parade of pictures and hopefully one or two of them are your favourites too.
