Joy of Christmas DSP

This week I’m starting on Christmas cards; the sales period for the September to December mini catalog starts next week, September 6th.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - My Elegant Cards - Joy of Christmas DSP - Christmas Classics

I decided to start with a very simple card. This is a piece of the Joy of Christmas DSP layered onto a Shaded Spruce card base. The DSP measures 5 1/4 by 4 inches and thus 6 of these can be made from a single sheet.

The sentiment from Christmas Classics was stamped in Shaded Spruce and cut out using the Stylish Shapes dies. It was attached with dimensionals. Finally a few of the red Festive Pearls were added.

I will be making this card, along with 2 others using this set on my Facebook Live on Sunday eastern at 11am. You can watch live, see the replay or check it out on YouTube.

When you place a $25 order with me, I’ll send you the cut card stock for free. Also if you share my live, I’ll put you in the raffle for a free embellishment plus a card.

Sea Turtle

This week I’m using the Sea Turtle photopolymer stamp set. It’s a reversible set and today I’m just using the detailed sides of the stamps. Eventually, that is!

A white layer was coloured using Blending Brushes and Lost Lagoon and Orchid Oasis ink. I had tried watercolouring but it is easier to control the colours  with the blending brushes.

Actually I learned a number of things whilst making this Sea Turtle card. My white embossing powder was not good – I think it’s only the second pot in about eight years. Grabbing a new one was helpful. I also discovered that it’s important to check which way up the reversible stamp is! I got some very undetailed images until I turned it over!

White craft ink was used instead of versamark; although that was probably an historic thing from using old powder. I stamped the turtles and heat embossed in my new white powder which was much better. Then the sentiment from Layering Leaves was added in and also heat embossed in white. The layer was added to an Orchid Oasis card base. Finally some of the 2022-2024 in color pearls were added.

I will be making this card, along with 2 others on my Facebook Live on Sunday eastern at 11am. You can watch live, see the replay or check it out on YouTube.

Sea Turtle

This week I’m using the Sea Turtle photopolymer stamp set. It’s a reversible set and today I’m actually using both sides of the smaller turtle stamp.

I found it easiest to first stamp the detailed side in Lemon Lime Twist up the side of the 5 by 3 3/4 inch white layer. Next, after cleaning, I added the solid side in Lemon Lolly. The white layer was matted with a 5 1/8 by 3 7/8 inch layer in Lemon Lolly and then added to a Lemon Lime Twist card base.

The sentiment from Layering Leaves was added in Lemon Lime Twist and a few of the matching Tinsel Gems four-pack were added.

It’s a reversible set and a great use for more Lost Lagoon!

This is a very simple card; the turtle is stamped onto a Lost Lagoon card base in Pretty Peacock. Next the sentiment from Layering Leaves was added, also in Pretty Peacock.

Clear Wink of Stella was added to the shell along with a few of the Misty Moonlight gems from the Tinsel Gems Three pack.

I will be making this card, along with 2 others using this set on my Facebook Live on Sunday eastern at 11am. You can watch live, see the replay or check it out on YouTube.

Hello, Irresistible DSP

This week I’m using the Hello, Irresistible DSP. I’ve managed to only use Lost Lagoon for a mat and stamping the sentiment in case there are any people not as fond of the colour as I am. Not that I can imagine how that can be!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - My Elegant Cards - Hello Irresistible DSP - Layer;ing Leaves

The DSP was cut to 2 by 5 1/2 inches and then matted with a piece of Lost Lagoon 2 3/8 by 5 1/2 inches. This was then added to a Daffodil Delight card base. I don’t use Daffodil Delight much; I got the colors from the DSP.

The sentiment, from Layering Leaves, was stamped directly onto the card base in Lost Lagoon. Finally I added some of the Glossy Dots assortment – I actually used the matching Daffodil Delight ones for once!
