Snowman Season Bundle

I’ve been having fun with the Snowman Season Bundle although this card only uses the Snowman Season photopolymer stamp set (150458) and a few blends.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Snowman Season Bundle - Itty Bitty Christmas

I stamped the happy snowman image using momento black ink and then used both colours of the seaside spray blends to colour in the background. The coal and rocks were in light basic black and of course pumpkin pie for his nose. I also used a touch of wink of Stella over his whole body to give some shimmer and then the Snowball Accents Puff Paint to give him something firm to stand on. I added a black mat and then used black for the sentiment which is from Itty Bitty Christmas which is a set full of great Christmassy sayings – 18 of them for only $22 (150513).

Since he was juggling, I added a number of embellishments from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels (150457) and Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220) packs. The card base is of course also seaside spray.

Bird Ballad Laser-cut cards

I wanted to do something a little different with the Bird Ballad Laser-cut cards so I decided to add a frame using the Stitched Rectangles dies (148551) out of very vanilla card stock

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Bird Ballad Laser-cut cards - Stitched Rectangles dies -

This makes it a lot simpler to add the petal pink piece of cardstock to the inside of the card base since you have a larger margin. Next I cut a banner slightly under 1 inch wide and embossed it in gold with a sentiment from the Here’s a Card stamp set (149438). I used the triple banner punch to make the flag on the banner and added it to the card leaving space on the right hand side.

For the decoration, I used the Perennial Essence Vellum cardstock (149101) to cut out petals using the Perennial Flower punch (149522) and the Leaf punch (144667) and a gold Faceted Gem (144141). In general, I don’t use much vellum, but I love it here.

Let me know what you think – both on the card and your use of vellum.

Bird Ballad Laser-Cut cards and tin

I’ve been playing with the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut cards and tin lately. Well with the card bases anyway. They are so beautiful and at $18 for 12 laser-cut cards, 12 envelopes plus a tin to keep them in, they are a steal (149595).

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Bird Ballad Laser-Cut cards and tin - Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Washi Tape - Seaside Notions

I’ve been playing with different ways of decorating these using mostly punches since I was designing for a class away from home. For this one, I used a piece of Merry Merlot cut to 5 3/8 by 4 1/8 inches. The multipurpose glue is best for attaching this to the inside of the laser cut part. Anything else is just too wide. I find it easier to carefully add a tiny amount of glue to the edge of the Merry Merlot and then attach it to the card base.

Next I stamped the sentiment from Seaside Notions in Merry Merlot and used the the Banner Triple Punch (138292) to make an easy banner. Then came the fun decoration! I used the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Washi Tape (149585) to make a 5 petal flower and added a Perennial Essence Floral Center (149442) in the centre. Mixing up a few suites but I love how it turned out!

Let me know what you think.

Playful Penguins

This week I’m playing with the Playful Penguins cling stamp set (150532, $22) and there’s a lot to play with. Three penguins, 5 sentiments and 3 ways to dress them up – in addition to the bow-tie I used here, there’s also a hat and a scarf.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Playful Penguins - Subtles TIEF

I stamped the penguin in memento and then added his real red bow-tie. I cut him out with the stitched rectangle dies and layered him on a piece of real red. I added some of the Snowfall Accents puff paint for him to stand on and then heated with the heat tool to make it look puffy.

The large whisper white layer was embossed with the Subtle textured embossing folder and layered onto a real red card base. The finishing touch was a real red cotton bow. I can see a lot more cards made with Playful Penguins!

More Brightly Gleaming suite

Well here I am with more Brightly Gleaming suite; the designer series paper is wonderful so I wanted it to be the focus of the card.

gleaming dsp2 Brightly Gleaming

Each strip of DSP is 2 inches wide which means I can make 12 of these cards from one piece of the DSP. I used a little sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas because I wanted something to fit in a small circle or square.

Do you go hunting for the SHAPE of a sentiment too? LOL.

But my big question here is, which do you prefer – the circle sentiment backed with copper foil or the stitched square version? I just can’t make up my mind!
