Final Amsterdam 3D swaps

Well all good things must come to an end, right? And today is the last of my Amsterdam 3D swaps, indeed the last of my swaps. I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing what I swapped my bee card for and have gained some inspiration.

First up is the beautiful brooch made by Ali Swann; this is special to me because I know Ali – she’s one of Eimear’s downline and I’ve been to a team meeting stamping with Ali.

She used the dragonfly dreams thinlits using glimmer paper and window sheets and made this gorgeous brooch.

Next I have a little notepad made by Barbara Cambron – very fun

Next is a cute little cat made by Rebecca Willmore which contains an adorable little cat scissor charm.

And finally, here’s the box which I (and all of her downline, adopted or not) received from Eimear. Inside was a nortex flannel which has some magic properties whereby you don’t need any body wash. It’s especially awesome for travelling! I think that the Hexagons Dynamic TIEF just jumped onto my wish list!

Amsterdam 3D swaps

I already shared the card swaps that I received in Amsterdam, now I’m moving onto the Amsterdam 3D swaps. People really went all out making 3D objects. Here’s half of them.

First I’m starting with this bag made by Ingrid Eisinger containing chocolate. I love the magnetic dots that she used to close it. I also love that it contained chocolate!

Next up is a nail file holder which I was really happy to get since I needed one and I’d forgotten to take one! Sadly I don’t have the name of who made this.

Both of these projects used the Playful Palette Paper DSP stack and it’s on sale for $6 down from $10 on the clearance rack. Bargain!

Next we have a cute little post it note holder featuring the very popular Hey Chick. This was made by Maria Gamlin. The Festive embossing folder that she used in the background is retiring, but it’s on sale at 20% off for just $6.80

Here we have another post it holder, this one a mini holder made by Katharina Klar

And finally for today, here’s a really cute little box made by Mieke Vis. I love the covering of the Floral Boutique DSP. It makes the real red box really pop. The DSP is retiring, but not on sale and it’s hit the low inventory level. If you want it, you need to hurry.

Wetlands Retiring Stamp set

I can’t believe that Wetlands is retiring; I’ve been playing with Stampin’ Up! product for almost three years now and this one has always been in the catalog. But no more. It’s not in the upcoming one. So for $17 (or $22 for wood mount) you can snap up this one. It really is timeless. The sentiments are fabulous and the images are great – I think my favourite is the birds rather than the main goose. Stamp sets are guaranteed to be available until May 22 but other things are as supplies last.

I did a watercolor wash of crumb cake over watercolor paper and then stamped the sentiment in early espresso. After a little time with the heat tool (my first attempt was onto damp paper and it bled rather unattractively) I stamped the birds, also in early espresso. I really like the effect. I mounted the watercolor paper onto a early espresso card base. Simple, easy and perfect. Let me know what you think.

YEAH! The Clearance rack has been updated with items that are up to 60% off – you don’t want to miss this. I’ve found, though, that currently the reduced price doesn’t show in the main listing of the clearance rack and you have to click into each item to see the price. e.g. the Birthday Bouquet cardstock pack shows as $7 but if you click on it, you see that the price is really $2.80. I’m sure they’ll get it fixed soon, but seeing as these items are as supplies last, you might not want to wait for that and start snagging bargains right away.

Stylized Birthday

Here’s a stamp which isn’t retiring – Stylized Birthday. It’s also a really handy – and economical – one. It comes only in a wood mount and is only $10. I haven’t had it long, but it’s extremely useful. I realised I’d been using it a lot on the inside of cards and decided that it deserved to be displayed on the outside. So here is it along with some retiring Party Animal DSP – still available this morning.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Stylized Birthday - Party Animal DSP

I first selected the piece of DSP, which is pacific point and whisper white and decided that it needed another color. The color scheme came about because I have rather a lot of ribbon in the retiring in color, mint macaron, so I added a strip of that around the DSP and then added a bow. The Stylized Birthday is stamped in mint macaron also on whisper white and carefully cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies – it JUST fits. I used dimensionals to pop this up so that there wasn’t a lump where the ribbon was. Easy card to create and it uses up DSP. A win win!

Retiring Bundles

One of the things that happens as a catalog comes to the end of its active life is that some products that were bundled together for a 10% saving carry on to the next catalog. Normally when this happens, they are no longer bundled and the 10% instant saving is no longer available. I thought I’d point out the retiring bundles, i.e. the products that are carrying over into the upcoming catalog but will cost more from June 1st.

There are four of these in the Occasions catalog (and I’m happy that they are carrying over because I have all four!) – take a look below at the bundle along with my favourite of the cards that I’ve made with each. Just click on the picture of the bundle if you decide you need this at 10% off! Click on the picture of the card to go to the original post.

I hope that you enjoyed this look at the Retiring Bundles from the Occasions Catalog. Let me know what you think – if you like, I can do the same for the annual catalog – there are FIFTEEN retiring bundles there!
