Paper Pumpkin February 2017

It’s that time of the month when the red Paper Pumpkin boxes are appearing in mail boxes all over the country. If you haven’t received yours yet, here’s what’s coming your way.

As usual, once mine gets here (I’m in NJ so I’m one of the last to get it I think) I’ll be creating alternative projects with the kit contents.

In case you don’t know what Paper Pumpkin is about, here are the details:

  • Each month you receive a unique, surprise kit with a project. It’s colour-coordinated and everything is pre-cut
  • Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, accessories and instructions.
  • Each kit gives you about 30 minutes of fun
  • Your Paper Pumpkin ships around the 15th of the month.
  • You need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. If you sign up on the 11th of the month, your first kit will come the next month.
  • A Paper Pumpkin subscription is just $19.95 per month (and shipping is included!) There’s no commitment, you can cancel or put your subscription on hold at any time. You can also prepay 1, 3, 6 or 12 months at a time (great gift idea) and save money with the latter 2 options.
  • Once you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can buy previous kits as supplies last. Sometimes complete kits are available, at other times, it’s just the consumables so that you can make more.

And don’t forget that during Sale-a-bration, for every $50 you spend (before taxes and shipping) you get to select a FREE product from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Don’t have paper copies of the catalogs? Drop me an email and I’ll put one in the mail. A 3 month prepaid Paper Pumpkin is currently on sale ($55 instead of $59), so not only do you get almost a 7% discount, you get to select a Sale-a-bration freebie. What more could you ask for?! Just order as normal at my online store – you can put the code 137859 in the search bar and it will take you right there.

Please use the Stampin’ Rewards code to enter the raffle for a chance to win your very own Bookcase Builder stamp set for free; the current Stampin’ Rewards code is Y3JVQ4Q7 (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get an entry into the raffle). Paper Pumpkin Time

It’s the 9th of the month which means that it’s almost your last chance to sign up for Paper Pumpkin and get this month’s kit. Here are the alternative cards that I made with January’s kit which was actually about treat bags. Apparently I got completely side tracked by the stamp set in the kit!

Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 5

With just a couple of days to go before the deadline to be on the list for the February paper pumpkin, I’m up to my Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 5. This one is the thank you card that I sent out to my January customers and it combines the January Paper Pumpkin, Adoring Arrows and the Sealed with love bundle.

 - Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 5 - Adoring Arrows - Love Notes Framelits dies - Sealed with love

Using sweet sugarplum ink, I stamped the sentiment all over my background layer, ensuring that some fell off the edges. Then I stamped off once and added a little layer of hearts onto a piece of scrap before cutting it out with the Love Notes framelits dies. I then stamped the thank you sentiment again on the middle of the note. The dies includes one to make a little envelope and I cut this one out of the Sending Love glassine sheets; it’s easy to assemble especially since the die adds score lines. I put it together with a glue dot and topped that with an enamel shape and popped it up with some dimensionals. It was fun making them and surprisingly quick too. Just use a piercing mat to ensure good coverage when using the photopolymer stamp and you’re good to go – just don’t forget some scrap to cover the mat when you’re stamping off the edge.

Just a reminder about the customer loyalty programme this month. I decided to have some fun and this month it’s a raffle for a stamp set – Bookcase Builder. For each order using my hostess code, Y3JVQ4Q7, you get an entry into the raffle to win a free stamp set. There will also be a little something in the mail for people who don’t win the stamp set.

Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 4

Here’s my Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 4, a fun way to make your own designer series paper. The Paper Pumpkin kit has the heart outline and a number of sentiments that fit inside it as well as a solid stamp.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 4 - Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

I took the stamps and used sweet sugarplum for my outlines and then the same colour and dapper denim to fill in the hearts with the sentiments. Next I created a sweet sugarplum sentiment and cut it out with the stitched shapes framelits dies and a matching sweet sugarplum layering circles die and then discovered that the placement I wanted covered a dapper denim sentiment and made the card unbalanced. So I stamped the sentiment in dapper denim and that fixed everything, popping this up on dimensionals.

These are unusually muted colours for a Valentine’s Card but I like how it works. It’s not in your face bright red or pink and it’s refreshing I feel.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get some party animal embellishments; the current one is XXXXXX (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free gift from me). Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 3

A sweet and simple Valentine’s card for today and my Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 3, using the Adoring Arrows kit. I really enjoy getting the kit every month, never knowing what it’s going to contain. I like to challenge myself to create a number of cards with the supplies (or minimal additional ones) just to see what I can create. Here I’m using the stamp set and extra supplies.

So I’m using melon mambo and a couple of the stamps on whisper white paper. A few melon mambo enamel shapes and a melon mambo card base and I’m done. It’s one of the fastest cards that I’ve made in a while. I contemplated adding a wooden heart, one of the new Sending Love Embellishments but it was too much. Clean and simple is my favourite.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get free handmade cards – this is the last day of the this month’s code; the current one is PNF6CKRH (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free cards from me).
