Feels Like Frost

Here’s another two cards using the Feels Like Frost DSP and neither of them are for Christmas.

This is a very unusual card for me since I really don’t like grey, but here I have to admit that it works really well. I’ll tell myself that the card base is silver rather than Smoky Slate and we’ll be okay. Right? I matted the DSP with whisper white and added that to the silver coloured card base leaving a wide border of the card base showing. I like the balance. The sentiment comes from Peaceful Moments which was cut out with the Stitched Shapes framelits dies and then popped up with dimensionals.

This is the same layout as above but it has a different feel due to the colors. The previous card felt warm, this one is a bit cool. I layered the piece of DSP onto a Night of Navy mat and then onto a thick whisper white card base. Next I stamped the sentiment from Blossoms in Bloom in Night of Navy, cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies and popped it up with dimensionals.

I’ll be doing my usual Facebook Live on Sunday at 11am EST and will demonstrate a number of cards using the Feels Like Frost DSP. I’m hoping to show you that it’s not just for Winter and Christmas.

Joseph’s Coat

If you follow my blog, and I hope you do, you know that this week I’m exploring the Joseph’s Coat technique.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Joseph's Coat - Blossoms in Bloom - Stitched Rectangle Dies

As before, you start by covering a piece of cardstock in whatever colours you like.  This time I applied Just Jade, Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape and Magenta Madness with sponge daubers. Leave it to get really dry.

Next grab a stamp set and using versamark, stamp on the card and then sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat. The stamp set on this card is the Blossoms in Bloom which I stamped using my stamparatus. This was mostly because I couldn’t find my I block (yes, my craft room really needs a tidy!) but it was useful to ensure that I got good coverage.

When the embossing was dry, I covered the card in Pretty Peacock. Next I used a paper towel to wipe off the colour on the raised images and that lets the colours shine through.

I added a Gorgeous Grape layer as a mat and mounted this onto a Pretty Peacock card base. The sentiment is also from Blossoms in Bloom and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

I’ll be demonstrating three cards made with the Joseph’s Coat technique on Sunday on Facebook Live at 11am EST and also will upload that to YouTube.
