Olive Branch

This week I’m using the stamp set Olive Branch and I decided to jazz it up with silver embossing.

This card stock is Starry Sky which is one of the new incolors. I love this one, it’s so rich and therefore perfect to have silver embossing on it.

I stamped the image in Versamark and then sprinkled on the silver embossing powder and heated. This is when I decided to add the sentiment, from the Olive Branch set so I got out the heating tool again. Next time I make this, I’ll do all the stamping at once!

The embossed piece was matted with silver foil and then mounted onto a Starry Sky card base.

I’ll be making this card plus 2 others using this set at my Facebook Live on Sunday at 11am Eastern. I will also post the video to YouTube.

Olive Branch

This week I’m using the stamp set Olive Branch and here’s my fairly predictable, first card.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - My Elegant Cards - Olive Branch

I tried Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Shaded Spruce for this and pulled up an image of a real olive tree to decide on the color. After consultation with my brother we decided that Soft Succulent was probably closest but that Evening Evergreen looked better. So, Evening Evergreen it is!

I stamped the image onto a white layer including the sentiment from Olive Branch. Next I added an Evening Evergreen mat and then added that to a white card base. Clean and simple.

I’ll be making this card plus 2 others using this set at my Facebook Live on Sunday at 11am Eastern. I will also post the video to YouTube.

On The Horizon bundle

This card should’ve been posted yesterday, but I was having some issues with WordPress. However it means that both my mac book and my linux box have had all their updates done so it’s a good thing!

So this is the last card using the On The Horizon bundle plus the DSP from yesterday.

I was inspired by a sample in the catalog but that was a framed picture whereas I made a card. This meant that there was some trimming needed which was quite tough!

The New Horizons DSP was cut to 5 1/4 by 4 inches making sure that there was some sky and flowers on both sides. This was added to a white card base.

For the fence, I stamped the wood stamp in Crumb Cake. To ensure sufficient height, I stamped it twice right next to each other. Then I used the Horizon Dies to die cut the fences and added them with multipurpose liquid glue.

I made 5 cards using this DSP at my Facebook Live mini class on Sunday and also uploaded the video to YouTube. If you share my live, I’ll add you to my raffle.

New Horizons DSP

The product that I’m featuring this week is the New Horizons DSP with  sentiments from the On the Horizon stamp set. As I mentioned previously, I really love this DSP which will be retiring at the end of the month. So I wanted to show more of the papers – I’ll be showing one card per day until Sunday.

Here’s another simple one. Cut the New Horizons DSP to 5 1/4 by 4 inches and stamp the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss. The birds were stamped in Misty Moonlight since the stamp was already inked somewhat but you could easily use more Blackberry Bliss. Finally add the DSP to a Blackberry Bliss card base.

I’ll be making a number of cards using this DSP at my Facebook Live mini class on Sunday at 11am as usual. I’ll also upload the video to YouTube. If you share my live, I’ll add you to my raffle.

New Horizons DSP

The product that I’m featuring this week is the New Horizons DSP with  sentiments from the On the Horizon stamp set. As I mentioned previously, I really love this DSP which will be retiring at the end of the month. So I wanted to show more of the designs – I’ll be showing one per day until Sunday.

Although the previous cards are really showcasing the beauty of the paper, I also wanted to show the versatility. So I cut a piece of a more restrained pattern to 5 1/2 by 2 inches and stamped the birds in Old Olive. It was then mounted onto the Old Olive card base.

The sentiment, also stamped in Old Olive comes from the Peaceful Moments sentiment set. It was cut out using the Layering Circles Framelits dies and mounted onto an Old Olive scallop. This was then attached to the card base using dimensionals.

I’ll be making a number of cards using this DSP at my Facebook Live mini class on Sunday at 11am as usual. I’ll also upload the video to YouTube. If you share my live, I’ll add you to my raffle.
