Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop. My name is Liz Bailey and I am really excited to be a guest designer this month with this talented group of demos from the UK – especially as I am originally from the UK and my sister, Caro, is one of the group. I moved to New Jersey quite a few years ago and became a demo almost 4 years ago. My sister and I spend many happy hours discussing stamping! This month the theme is Cooking up a Storm and whilst I love cooking, I don’t have many cooking stamp sets. So I went with preparing fruit for your delectation and delight. Whether you started the blog hop here or are already hopping away, you are most welcome and I hope you enjoy everyone’s creations.

The first card in the pack is my strawberry and watermelon fruit salad. I found it best to use the punches in the itty bitty fruit punch pack so that I could arrange my salad. You also don’t need to stamp the outlines of the fruit if you’re using the punches since they are slightly smaller than the images. I mounted my piece of whisper white onto a slightly larger emerald envy and that fit perfectly onto a notecard. The sentiment came from the Fruit Basket and finished the card perfectly. The sentiment was then repeated on the envelope to make a matching set.

I then decided that I needed to use all four of the punches. So, next up is the pineapple which I stamped in crushed curry and emerald envy and punched out quite a few of them. I added my little fruit trio to a piece of whisper white and added the same sentiment and mat as before. For a different look from the strawberries, a main layer was added from the Tutti Frutti DSP. A scrap was also added to the envelope along with 3 more pineapples.

The speckled look on the pears came about because I couldn’t decide on an ink colour. So I used mossy green and brilliant red brusho crystals liberally sprinkled onto wet watercolour paper and then used the punch. I used another of the sentiments, this time stamped in old olive and glued down 7 pears, popping some up for interest. Another 7 adorned the matching envelope.

So I had used all of the fruit, but now I needed something to put them in. I decided to create a little folder. You need a piece of card stock 9″ by 8″. Score on the 9 inch side at 1/2, 4 1/2 and 8 1/2 and on the 8 inch side at 2 inches. Fold and burnish all the score lines and then remove the half inch strips on the sides down to the 2 inch score line. If you trim a small triangle at the 2 inch line, you have 2 tabs to glue securely to create the pockets which will fold over nicely without the extra bulk. For decoration, I added another 7 pears (well it’s hard to make a small amount of brusho-ed paper!) down the edge. To hold the folder closed, I dyed some whisper white organza ribbon using the dark old olive Stampin’ blends marker.

That should definitely fulfill your 5 a day for today!
