Memories in the making – Party Pants

I pulled out the Memories in the Making pack of Project Life cards and flicked through them thinking to use one on a card. I’ve yet to jump into the Project Life arena although I plan to. When I get some photos printed! Anyway, I pulled out an embossed piece of 4″ by 6″ card and decided to sponge watermelon wonder over it. Since I had my sponge dauber out, I also decided to dab watermelon wonder onto the white glimmer tape. Putting the tape onto a silicone mat works really well – you don’t lose any of the stickiness and the excess ink wipes off the mat. A word of warning here though – the tapes takes AGES to dry. Actually, after a few cases lately of getting ink all over my fingers, I think I left the tape for several hours.

I then cut a banner end with my snips and put the glimmer tape onto the sponged card, wrapping the end under the card to get a good edge. The sentiment is from the set Party Pants and it’s stamped in more watermelon wonder on whisper white. I punched it out with the 1.5″ circle punch and also a watermelon wonder mat using the 1.75″ circle punch. Next I glued the sponged piece to a watermelon wonder card base and popped up the sentiment over the glimmer tape. I used the 2015-2017 in color DSP stack to make the envelope liner using the framelits. Looks like I’ve made another feminine birthday card – I’m short of masculine ones again although almost nobody at the office has a birthday next month. Or at least, nobody that I know. So I have time to make some.

By the way, in case you’re wondering where any of today’s products are from, they are all Sale-a-bration freebies that you need to order by Thursday if you want them. Or any of the other freebies because sadly we’re almost at the end of Sale-a-bration. You could pick up one of them with a $50 order which would also garner you the It’s My Party enamel dots. Check out the Customer Loyalty Program details over on the left.

See you tomorrow,

Memories in the making

Yesterday I had computer problems as in, nothing would open. The reboot didn’t work either – I’m opening a ticket with the HIT desk – i.e. the Home IT desk, my brother. There’s clearly an issue with my computer – I’m hoping it behaves long enough for me to write this post. Because here’s my design team card for the new challenge at CAS Colour & Sketches and you need to check the challenge out!

It’s almost Pi day. As in March 14th. I’m a mathematician, or at least I majored in maths so I feel that it’s important. And obviously, there had to be a circle on the card. Here’s a card you can share with your geeky friends.

I hand wrote the pi symbol since there’s no stamp for it (definitely a lack!) in cherry cobbler on very vanilla and then attached it to a window sheet from the Memories in the Making set that is a Sale-a-bration freebie. I attached this with glue dots to the back of a piece of cherry cobbler where the window was cut with the squares framelits collection. This was then glued to a cherry cobbler card base.

This was fun to make – especially using items that are made for memory keeping. We can definitely repurpose!

Happy Pi Day.

See you tomorrow,
