Summer Days again

Here’s my third card this week showcasing the host set, Summer Days along with the sentiment from Loyal Leaves which was still on my desk from last week!

As on Friday’s card, I stamped the image in Sahara sand and then colored it. I used dark granny apple green on all of the stamped image lines and then used the light one to blend it and fill in the rest of the image. Then I did the same on the wood using dark and light soft suede. The track was colored using dark and light crumb cake.

The sentiment was stamped in granny apple green onto the top layer. I’d advise doing this before the coloring, just in case, although you could always pop up a sentiment on top if you make a mistake. I then mounted the whisper white layer onto a crumb cake mat and then adhered to a granny apple green card base.

If you’d like to see me making this and the two earlier ones, I do a Facebook Live on Sundays at 11am EST on @MyElegantCards, i.e. in about 3.5 hours. I make all three cards that I blog during the week.

More Loyal Leaves

Here’s the third card showcasing the Loyal Leaves stamp set; an 8 piece cling stamp set (152544) for $23.  I’ll be making them all live on my Facebook page (My Elegant Cards) at 11am EST today. After I made Friday’s card, I decided to try the same sort of thing but this time bringing in a spritzer and water.

This time I used a D block and, after tapping it onto the granny apple green ink pad, spritzed it with water and pressed it onto the whisper white paper. Since it needed time to dry, I did this several times on other piece of card stock.

Next I used early espresso to stamp a leaf. A couple of the layers had splurges of ink on so I trimmed those down with the trimmer and then added an early espresso mat, as with this example. I added a sentiment from the Loyal Leaves set on to the card base and then adhered the two together.

I made more cards using the backgrounds that I’d created and I ended up with a set of six! Here are some of them:

I used an E block for the next one

I really can’t decide which of the two types I like best. What do you think? Full sized whisper white layer or cut down with an early espresso mat?

Loyal Leaves

This week I’m showcasing the Loyal Leaves stamp set which is an 8 piece cling stamp set (152544) for $23.  And the leaves are gorgeous.

You’ll have to trust me what I tell you that it looks better in person; I couldn’t get the photo to really show the gold embossing. I used a C block and tapped it onto ink pads and then onto the very vanilla layer cleaning in between each color. The colors used are just jade, shaded spruce and pretty peacock – stamping off for the pretty peacock otherwise it was too dark.

After leaving this to dry, I heat embossed the leaf in gold and then added the sentiment from Loyal Leaves in pretty peacock. There’s also a pretty peacock mat to really frame the focal point.

Loyal Leaves

The product that I’m showcasing this week is the Loyal Leaves stamp set. It’s an 8 piece cling stamp set (152544) for $23.  And the leaves are SO detailed, it’s incredible. I started with autumnal colors using cinnamon cider, bumblebee and mango melody.

I stamped the same leaf by hand in the three colours; I tried the stamparatus but couldn’t fit the three of them on my top layer. Then I added a cinnamon cider mat and mounted it on a bumblebee card base.

The Rectangule Stitched framelits dies were used to cut out my sentiment – which is also from the Loyal Leaves set. I love the typeface of the sentiment.
