Paper Pumpkin January 2016 Alternate 2

Here’s the last Valentine’s card for this year. I meant to post it yesterday of course but I’ve spent the last two days elevating my ankle as often as possible. It aches if I sit in a chair – presumably two days in the office in a row were a bit too much. It’s lucky that I can work from home.

Stampin' Up! Acorny Thank You and January 2016 Paper Pumpkin

I made this during my melon mambo phase at the crop and it was liked so much that I had to make a spare one for a fellow cropper. It’s a pretty good feeling when someone really wants one of your cards. It was also a pretty good feeling when Acorny Thank You made it to the list of continuing sets and I wanted to combine it with the Paper Pumpkin January 2016 set, Cute Conversations, to make a Valentine’s card. I carefully used the acorn builder punch to cut out an acorn as far away from the edge as possible. Then I stamped the dotty acorn hat and the sentiment and cut out both of these with the punch. I then layered the whisper white piece over a square of melon mambo cardstock, popping it up on dimensionals. The dotty hat was then added through the hole to ensure that I got it in the right place. The right hand acorn was then carefully glued only on one side and then added. I figured out the placement and then stamped the XOXO which comes from the January 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit. Then, after that was safely stamped, I glued down the square of melon mambo.

I lined the envelope with the envelope liners framelits and the retired backgrounds DSP from the brights collection.

Today’s the last day that you can be guaranteed to be able to get the three limited time freebies from the Sale-a-bration catalogue and it marks half way through what is the best sale of the year! It’s also half way through your opportunity to join Stampin’ Up! and get $155 worth of product for $99 with free shipping. There’s no risk because if you like, that can be the last time you ever buy anything. That’s a lot of free product…

See you tomorrow,

January 2016 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

It’s Paper Pumpkin time again – my kit for this month arrived last week. It’s focused on Valentine’s Day and there’s a fun stamp set included – Cute Conversations.Of course I decided to reuse the stamp set to make a card. Just one so far…

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Cute Conversations

Isn’t this fun? I made the DSP by stamping the XOXO stamp in melon mambo on whisper white. I started in the centre and just worked my way outwards stamping in different directions until I’d filled the card. I then inked up another of the stamp set’s sentiments in melon mambo and stamped on a scrap of whisper white. I cut this out with the retired hearts collection thinlits dies and then cut the next size up in melon mambo to create the border. You could use the sweetheart punch for this but it’s only one size and you’d not have the mat.  I guess I’d better hang on to my hearts collection dies.

I glued the hearts together with the multipurpose glue and then popped that up with dimensionals. I’ll make another card with this set using all current product soon.

I should remind you that during Sale-a-bration the three month prepaid subscription of Paper Pumpkin is on sale for $55. This is not only great value for three of the monthly kits, but if you buy this, you also get to choose an item for free from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. What an awesome deal! Just click on the Paper Pumpkin button over on the left to get started or on the scrolling store below.

See you tomorrow,

January Paper Pumpkin – Cute Conversations

Yesterday I got this month’s Paper Pumpkin – it’s a surefire way to get me to empty the mail box!  Here’s the Stampin’ Up! Youtube video showcasing this month’s kit.

In case you don’t know what Paper Pumpkin is, here’s a recap:

  • Each month you receive a unique, surprise kit with a project. It’s colour-coordinated and everything is cut for you
  • Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, accessories and instructions – everything but adhesive.
  • Each kit gives you about a 30 minute creativity escape.
  • Your Paper Pumpkin ships around the 15th of the month.
  • You need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. If you sign up on the 11th of the month, your first kit will come the next month.
  • A Paper Pumpkin membership is $19.95 per month (and shipping is included!) There’s no commitment, you can cancel your monthly Paper Pumpkin at anytime. You can also skip a month if you want.
  • Just click on the Paper Pumpkin button on the left hand side to join up.

During Sale-a-bration, the 3 month prepaid subscription is on sale for $55 (normally 59.85) and better than that, if you buy it you also get a free item from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. I’m definitely doing that myself.

I’ve started a class on (usually) the last Friday of the month to get together and put together the kits. I’m also including an extra project. If you’re local to Randolph, NJ, sign up and come on by for some fun.

See you tomorrow,

Liz
