A Touch of ink with watercolor pencils

Here’s my third card this week using the FREE Sale-a-bration set A Touch of ink. It’s a 17 piece photopolymer 2 step stamp set and can be earned for free with an order of $100 starting on January 5th.

The image was stamped on Very Vanilla in Early Espresso and then die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. Next watercolor pencils were used, namely Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo followed by a careful use of a blender pen so as not to smudge the brown. The body was coloured using Early Espresso.

The sentiment, also from A Touch of Ink, was stamped in Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla card base. Finally the butterfly was popped up with dimensionals.

I’ll be making the 3 cards shown this week on today’s facebook live at 11am. Join me then! If you share my Facebook Live, I’ll enter you into a raffle.

A Touch of ink

Happy New Year! I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2021.

This week I’m giving you a sneak peek of a product that you’ll be able to earn for free starting next Monday – A Touch of ink. It’s a 17 piece photopolymer 2 step stamp set and an order of $100 is enough for you to earn it.

This is a very simple card but, I hope, elegant and fun. The butterflies were stamped only with the outline stamp in Mango Melody and then Wink of Stella was applied. This glittery pen, of course, adds glitter but it also pulls the color around the image so the end result is pale Mango Melody butterflies rather than white ones just outlined. And the glimmer is fabulous.

The sentiment, also from A Touch of Ink, was stamped in Mango Melody and the layer was given a matching mat before being glued onto a Very Vanilla card base.

I’ll be making the 3 cards shown this week on Sunday’s facebook live at 11am. Join me then!

The stem and outline were stamped in Mossy Meadow and then the watercolor look fill in stamp was stamped in Merry Merlot. It doesn’t match the outline perfectly, it’s a more arty kind of impression. The image was then matted with Merry Merlot card stock.

Although the photo looks to be a different color layer to the card base, they are actually both Very Vanilla. Before glueing the layer onto the card base, the sentiment, also from A Touch of Ink, was stamped just in case!
