Sheltering Tree for Spring

My grandmother always told me not to wish my life away, but the frigid weather we’ve been having lately in NJ is making me long for spring. So I decided it was time to make a spring version with the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree

I got the colour combination of pear pizzazz, blushing bride and early espresso from the color coach and started by stamping the grassy swoosh in pear pizzazz on whisper white. I then stamped the tree in early espresso. After giving it a moment to be sure it was dry, I swiped the card with the embossing buddy before stamping the blossom in versamark and then using the blushing bride embossing powder. I love how the embossing powder allows you to have pale colours on top of the dark tree. The card seemed to need a bit more, so I stamped the flower stalks in more pear pizzazz. I decided to emboss the flowers since one at least would be over the tree and if it wasn’t embossed it would just disappear into the tree trunk. So after more embossing buddy, I added the flowers using the cherry cobbler embossing powder. I’m really pleased with how this card came out.

The envelope’s flap is lined – or maybe that should be covered – with the backgrounds DSP in pear pizzazz. I just glued on a piece with the tombow glue and snipped along the edges.

See you tomorrow,

Liz
