Daisy Punch and the Daisy Delight stamp set

Here’s a card featuring the daisy delight bundle and the daisy punch. These have been phenomenally successful so far, far outstripping Stampin’ Up!’s predictions. Apparently a punch sells about 7000 per year and this one, in a two week pre-order period where only demos could by (and only one each) was sold 7200 times! Although Stampin’ Up! had predicted that this would be popular, they hadn’t thought it would be THIS popular and the initial order of 10,000 punches has been sold. Clearly it takes time to make punches but another 6800 are due to arrive in a couple of weeks. So hang in there – soon you’ll be able to get your own punch. And when you do, here’s an idea for it.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Daisy Punch - Daisy Delight

It’s just a simple 3 by 3 inch piece of whisper white and I created a negative of the daisy with the Daisy Punch putting a 3 1/4 inch square of lemon lime twist behind it. I designed the card to show off the new in color as well as the punch. The sentiment is from the coordinating Daisy Delight stamp set and do you see the gold faceted gem? It’s impossible to do it credit in the photo; it’s just so sparkly, I love it. And of course, now I have some white daisies to play with!

This Little Piggy

This Little Piggy is an adorable stamp set; truthfully I thought it was a little too cute for me, but when I came back with it from Onstage Live, I changed my mind.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - This Little Piggy - Oh My Stars TIEF

For this piggy, I used watercolor paper, an aquapainter and some rather unexpected watercolor pencils. For the piggy, since there’s no powder pink pencil, I actually used a light covering of calypso coral which creates a very piggy kind of pink when blended with a little water. I used the old olive pencil for the grass and a little early espresso for the hooves. I added a mat of old olive that was just 1/8 inch larger than the watercolor paper and also used a scrap of watercolor paper for the sentiment which is cut out using the smallest oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits dies. Since one end of it was on top of the mat and watercolor paper, I added a scrap of both to the other end of the sentiment so that it was flat – and as a bonus it looks a little raised on the right hand side.

I used the Oh My Stars TIEF on a piece of powder pink to make the background interesting, but not so interesting as to overpower the piggy. I hope you agree that This Little Piggy is adorable!

Naturally Eclectic

Here’s Shannon West showing off the Naturally Eclectic suite. There are quite a lot of parts to this – obviously there’s a stamp set, (Oh, so eclectic) with matching thinlits dies. These are unusual though, they cut out shapes, cut out negative images and even dry emboss. There is of course some DSP (mine is on the way) and even card overlays. I have to confess that the ribbon isn’t me though – it’s crinkled seam binding ribbon. I can see that I’d be trying to iron it! But watch Shannon lead you through the bundle with a few samples. It’s fun.

Happy Birthday Thinlits Die

I’m still recovering from an upper respiratory infection and that means that I have nothing energetic planned today beyond a little walk and a lot of crafting. Sounds like the perfect day, right?! Today I wanted to share how easy the new Happy Birthday Thinlits die makes it to create a fun card.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Happy Birthday Thinlits Die - Eastern Palace Specialty DSP

I used the tranquil tide for the happy birthday thinlits die and it easily fell out of the die. The DSP is a piece from the new Eastern Palace Specialty DSP and I matted that with a more tranquil tide. I layered this all onto one of the new very vanilla notecards and the card was done. It would be perfect for the times when you need a birthday card in 3 minutes flat!

I can’t wait for the new multipurpose adhesive sheets which are coming in my order – that will make it even easier. For this one, I used a dauber, multipurpose glue and the silicone craft mat.

Colorful Seasons

Today’s card showcases the new set Colorful Seasons and it has a message for all of us so excited about the new catalog!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Colorful Seasons

Fun card, right? I used berry burst and crumb cake for the stamping and the same colors for the matting and the card base. Easy and effective.

One tip: when using photopolymer stamps with a large area of ink, stamp using the stampin’ pierce mat. It gives a cushion that is missing with a photopolymer stamp and gives a better image. I cut my grid paper into quarters so that I have a little piece on top of my pierce mat. I can’t really stamp without the lines on the grid paper to help me line things up!

I put in my order yesterday before noon because the site was available a little early and it was shipped yesterday. So excited! And it’s a big order because I took advantage of the extra $35 of stampin’ rewards for an order of $350 or me. Can’t wait for it to get here with all my new awesome goodies! Oh yes, just breathe!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
