Wood Crate Framelits Dies

Here’s a sample that we made in Amsterdam – and thanks to Eimear for it getting home safely! She was the one who suggested not making the crate until we got home which is how I have a non-battered crate to share! We made it using the new Wood Crate Framelits Dies.

The Wood Textures DSP stack is full of wood pictures making it perfect for making the crates – also for masculine cards, but we’ll get to that another day. You simply cut out two of the crate pieces and apply tear tape to the little tabs and construct the crate. Easy peasy.

We then made little 3 by 3 inch cards to fit in the crate stamping them with the accompanying set, Wood Words and using a little more of the matching DSP. It makes a nice little gift.

Paper Pumpkin June 2017

It’s time to share this month’s Paper Pumpkin video and this one is very bright and cheerful since it’s based on watermelons! There are 6 cards and 4 bags to make and they are a lot of fun. I’ve been so excited by this year’s new annual catalog that I’m behind in playing with Paper Pumpkin – must remedy that because there are some fun things to play with.

In case you don’t know what Paper Pumpkin is about, here are the details:

  • Each month you receive a unique, surprise kit with a project. It’s colour-coordinated and everything is pre-cut
  • Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, accessories and instructions.
  • Each kit gives you about 30 minutes of fun
  • Your Paper Pumpkin ships around the 15th of the month.
  • You need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. If you sign up on the 11th of the month, your first kit will come the next month.
  • A Paper Pumpkin subscription is just $19.95 per month (and shipping is included!) There’s no commitment, you can cancel or put your subscription on hold at any time. You can also prepay 1, 3, 6 or 12 months at a time (great gift idea) and save money with the latter 3 options.
  • Once you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can buy previous kits as supplies last. Sometimes complete kits are available at other times, it’s just the consumables so that you can make more.

I hope you enjoyed today’s video. Pretty Label Punch

I wanted to share the pretty label punch today – it’s a brand new punch in this catalog, but of course I wanted to be different and show that it’s versatile and not just for the set it officially coordinates with. And I wanted to share this amazing piece of paper of the Delightful Daisy DSP. It’s great for cards but the entire piece would be fantastic for traditional scrapbooking. I’ve also broken the colour rules…

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Pretty Label Punch - Delightful Daisy DSP - Bunch of Blossoms

The Delightful Daisy DSP officially coordinates with calypso coral, daffodil delight, night of navy, old olive, pool party, tranquil tide and whisper white. But when I put this DSP with daffodil delight or old olive, it wasn’t quite right. So what we have here is the DSP bordered by whisper white on a card base of always artichoke. And in my opinion, it’s a perfect match.

I then added the sentiment from Bunch of Blossoms stamped in always artichoke and cut out with the Pretty Label Punch. It fits perfectly. I also punched out another in always artichoke and cut the ends off to add under the label to give a hint of the always artichoke.

I think that the Delightful Daisy DSP is my favourite pack ever. And there was some stiff competition.

Happiest of Days

Here’s a card that we made recently in a class using Happiest of Days. It’s a very fun sketch set that could be used for weddings or birthdays.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Happiest of Days

We stamped the presents (all one image) in archival basic black and then the sentiment in lemon lime twist. Looking back over the month, it’s starting to look as if this may be my favourite colour which is amusing since this was the one that I was only planning to use for pops of colour! The presents are coloured in using the new tranquil tide and lemon lime twist markers taking care not to have the stripes and spots all symmetrical – I think it looks better that way.

To pull the card together, I used a very skinny mat of tranquil tide and layered that on a lemon lime twist card base leaving a nice deep border. I’m enjoying experimenting with different sized borders; it completely changes the look of the card.

Tranquil Tulips

Today I’m sharing the host set, Tranquil Tulips. I absolutely adore this set – tulips are one of my two favourite flowers, freesias being the others for their scent. And the 2 step stamp set is perfect to make realistic – but watercolored – tulips. The texture in the flowers is really beautiful.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Tranquil Tulips - Bunch of Blossoms

Here I stamped the stems and leaf first in pear pizzazz. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that pear pizzazz is one of my favourites and I’m thrilled that it goes so well with berry burst. I stamped off once before stamping the back of the tulips and then used the second stamp full strength for the front of the tulip. There are stamps for the stamens, but I felt that they were unnecessary in this instance. I used Bunch of Blossoms for the beautiful sentiment, stamped again in berry burst and then mounted my piece of whisper white onto a mat of pear pizzazz just 1/8 inch larger. This went onto a berry burst card base. I used this design for a recent class and it was popular as well as easy to mass produce.

You can only purchase hostess sets by either holding a workshop or placing a large enough order – they kick in at an order of $150 at 10% of the order total. This set is only $10 so at an order of $150 you can also order something else.
