I am slowly getting back to more crafting even though I’m currently sleeping around 10-11 hours per day. 8 at night and a nap – which sounds excessive but it’s necessary at the moment because I’ve started back to work part time. This of course means that my crafting is even more critical for fun and stress release! I’ll try to share more of what I’m doing with you all. First up is the Beautiful Day set in the new Occasions catalog (page 26 – if you need one mailed, let me know) and the brusho crystal colour. These are watercolor ink crystals which have really intense colors. The brushos are on the same page which is why a lot of people have been playing with the Beautiful Day set and brushos together.

I first stamped the butterfly and left it to dry for quite a while. Seeing as I was making 21 swap cards they had time! Next I wet the watercolor paper inside the butterfly image and then held the little pot upside down and tapped on the bottom. Since there are only 2 holes made with a paper piercer the powder comes up sparingly. I used the red, gamboge and yellow crystals and then spritzed water over the card too. Then I put them aside to dry. As you can see, they all come out quite differently.

The YOU comes from Amazing You and that gorgeous die cut amazing comes from the matching dies, Celebrate You. My sister cranked out 21 of them after first putting the multipurpose adhesive sheets on the back. It’s so nice to have a visiting crafter! The great thing about these dies is that you can get them for free with a $100 purchase because they are in the Sale-a-bration brochure. And even better is that they will be in the next annual catalog. Personally I prefer to get them for free!

Happy New Year! Today is the day that the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs go live. If you’d like paper copies and don’t already work with a demonstrator, let me know and I’ll send you your own copies. There are so many ways to get freebies at this time of year.

First you can shop – and for every $50 that you spend in product you can choose a level 1 product from the SAB brochure. For every $100 you can select either 2 level 1 products or a level 2.

Next you can hold a party with your friends and earn the rewards from the party. If your party sales get to $250, you earn an extra $25 in rewards which means at a $250 party, you can choose $50 of product.

Best of all you can join the team. The Starter Kit is always a fabulous value at $99 for $125 of product of your choice with free shipping but during Sale-a-bration, it’s even BETTER value. So that’s up to $226 of product for $99 plus tax. It’s really a no brainer since there’s no fine print; if you choose not to buy anything further, you just stop being a member of the Stampin’ Up! family. Nothing to explain or give back.

Sneak Peeks

It’s an exciting time of the year with the year end sale going on, retiring products and a rather well stocked clearance rack. And it’s only a few days until the new catalogs go live. So I feel that I can share a card showing a few of the new products that will be available from Wednesday. These are all from the Sale-a-bration catalog which is a marvellous little brochure. For every $50 that you spend you can select a level 1 product for FREE! There are even a few products that you can select after spending $100 which is new this year – as is the fact that one of these are framelits. What’s even more exciting is that the framelits will be in the next annual catalog – but personally I prefer to get them for free! This is my favourite time of year!

I did the rock ‘n’ roll technique on the peacock’s tail from Beautiful Peacock – you ink up the tail in lemon lime twist and then rock and roll the edges around the bermuda bay ink pad. You get this fun 2 toned effect very easily. The simply comes from the Amazing You stamp set which matches the Celebrate You thinlits dies. I can see me adding this amazing die cut to lots of cards – love the typeface.

Festive Phrases

Here’s my final Christmas card for the year using Festive Phrases to wish you a very merry Christmas. I coloured the lights with real red and garden green Stampin’ Write markers and then added a little sparkle with wink of Stella. With a border of real red cut out with the layering squares framelits dies and put on a card dry embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF, you get a classy card nice and quickly – although I’ve had this ready and photographed for about 10 days!
