Blooms and Wishes

I set myself a challenge to use a retiring stamp set but also to use only retiring colours. I chose the Blooms and Wishes stamp set and managed to use 4 retiring colours – I was pretty impressed with that. Perfect plum, wisteria wonder, rose red and always artichoke.

I started with the biggest blooms on wisteria wonder and then did the centres of the flower in perfect plum. It’s not visible but I added wink of Stella (not retiring, thank goodness) over the perfect plum. Then I added in the sentiment in always artichoke to be sure that I had room for it. I’m not really going to miss always artichoke; it’s a nice colour but mossy meadow is coming back and it’s close and, in my opinion, nicer. I never once used always artichoke when I had the option of mossy meadow.

Next I added the rose red flowers and some sprigs of always artichoke. Attaching this to a wisteria wonder card base finished off a simple card perfectly. My class attendees enjoyed making this one.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

The ink pads and coloured card stock shown today are as supplies last. The stamp set is guaranteed until May 25th but don’t delay. Also yesterday Stampin’ Up! reduced some prices on the retiring list. Check out my shop to see what’s still available and what’s at a reduced price.

Farewell to Paisleys and Posies

It’s time to bid a fond farewell to another pairing – the Paisleys and Posies stamp set and the Paisley Framelits dies – neither part will be in the upcoming catalog, so if you want them, get them now. Here I made my own background with a number of the beautiful stamps and then highlighted one of them with a copper die cut.

Here I added some colour with the stampin’ write markers

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects – if you need this stamp set and the dies, hurry before they are out of stock. Whilst the stamp set is guaranteed until May 25th, the dies are as supplies last.

Bye bye bundle – Lemon Zest bundle

Here’s a bundle that I came to late, but I’m glad that I got it at the bundled price! 10% off is always a good thing. The components of the Lemon Zest bundle – the stamp set and punch – are both in the upcoming catalog, but you’ll be paying full price for them, so get them now whilst the bundled pricing is still available.

I actually used my stamparatus for this card because this was my swap at Onstage last month and I was making about 30. It’s very easy to make multiples using this new tool which will be available in the upcoming catalogue. And that’s exciting – it’s extremely relaxing and satisfying to be stamping away and a pile of partially finished card grows and before you know where you are, all you have to do is attach the layer to the cardbase. Obviously I did all the cards with the first lemon and a leaf and then did them all with the second lemon and another leaf and so on.

So I encourage you to grab this bundle whilst you can.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

Farewell to Moon Baby

In continuing my series of blogs highlighting the stamp sets that I’m disappointed are leaving us, I went through the last chance products section of the online shop. And found that there are rather a lot on my list that I want to point out! Moon Baby was a real favourite of mine when making baby cards and I’m going to miss this one.

Here’s a selection of the cards that I made with it. Click on the photo to go to a post with more details.

As you can see, you can make adorable cards with this set. It’s guaranteed to be available until May 25th but consumables like paper and ink are as supplies last. The good news is that the watercolor pencils are in the next catalog, so now worries there. But don’t delay if you want any of the other products.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

Farewell to Stylized Birthday

I just noticed that Stylized Birthday is on the retiring list. It’s a one stamp set, only available in wood for $10. I’ve only made a couple of cards with it, BUT I’ve used it over and over inside my cards. In fact, it rarely gets put away.

I’m really going to miss it for inside the card. For the outside when I want a big greeting, I tend to use the multipurpose adhesive sheets and the Happy Birthday thinlits die which produces a nice large greeting for the front of the card. It also means that you can cut out a selection of colours and then decide which you prefer. I have a little stash of the die cuts!

But the stamp is retiring – it’s guaranteed to be available until May 25th but if you want anything other than stamps, don’t wait. Everything else is as supplies last. Don’t forget to check out the Clearance Rack too – there are some wonderful bargains there.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
