Music from the Heart again

I’m really enjoying playing with the set Music from the Heart. As a member of a musical family, it really works for me.

I used Merry Merlot and created a textured background using the Sale-a-bration 3D embossing folder, Stone. Then it was figuring out how to make the guitar using 2 stamps together. I really like copper with Merry Merlot as you can see!

Music from the heart

This week I’m playing with the new set Music from the heart (151674 $17). It’s really fun – I’ve already planned what I’m going to do with it next.

I used the Stamparatus technique of hinge stepping to get all my staves (or staffs) aligned uniformly and then stamped the notes.

For the sentiment and special note, I used real red so that it would really stand out and of course used that for the mat and the card base.

Do the impossible again

This card using the Do the impossible stamp set is close to my heart. I’m a runner, sort of. I’m slow and I am massively talented at spraining an ankle (I can fall over acorns!) but I haven’t run all month because I was sick. But it’s almost time to gird my loins and my courage and venture out again. I have a hatred of treadmills, even if they are acorn free.

So I stamped the background trees using the Mountain Air stamp set and garden green. The runners were stamped using sahara sand stamped off once and then coloured using watercolour pencils and a blender pen. It’s so relaxing colouring away. I had to put some pink on the girl because my brother’s computer is by the window and he’s been telling me that all the fast female runners are wearing neon pink. My girl isn’t wearing neon pink but it’s the closest I have. I suspect that’s why my apple watch, that he helped my father select, has a pomegranate strap!

I used night of navy for the sentiment, cut out with my much used stitched shapes dies and popped it up with dimensionals. The card base is garden green with a layer of night of navy.

Do The Impossible

I have a friend on Strava and he’s a cyclist. So for his birthday, Do The Impossible seems perfect! I decided to go with silver embossing on blueberry bushel.

This led to using more silver in the form of a silver foil border which I then decided should be embossed. I flicked through my ring holding all my embossing folder samples and decided on hammered metal. It looks great using foil. The sentiment is from the same Do The Impossible stamp set (151660, $20) which also has a swimmer and a couple of runners. Very useful if you have active friends!

Lovely Lily Pad and Lily Pad Dies

Here’s my second card this week using the Lovely Lily pad and Lily Pad dies which you can get for free during Sale-a-bration as supplies last. Between them they need an order of $150.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Lovely Lily Pad - Lily Pad Dies - Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder - So Sentimental - Stitched so sweetly dies

I’m really enjoying the challenge that I’ve set myself to use the same product all week and to use different parts of it. The Lovely Lily Pad stamps are reversible and I stamped the one side in blushing bride and then the other in rich razzleberry after which I cut them out with the dies.

I had a piece of silver foil embossed with the Hammered Metal embossing folder and I decided to use copper foil to add bling to the side of the card. Then I used copper embossing powder for the sentiment which comes from the So Sentimental stamp set and was then cut out with the matching Stitched so Sweetly Dies. Both the background for the sentiment and the card base are rich razzleberry.
