Lotus Blossom for a class

Here’s one of the cards that I did for a recent class. Once they got the hang of lining up the arrows on the Stampin’ Up! Lotus Blossom set, they loved it. The three images of the flower each have an arrow (that doesn’t appear when you stamp) that you point in the same direction on each stamp to help with lining up the image. This set is only available through the end of March – it’s one of the freebies during Sale-a-bration.

Stampin' Up! Lotus Blossom

We stamped the first (smallest and most detailed image) in lost lagoon and used the same ink for the second image, but we stamped off once first. The third image is stamped in pool party. We used pear pizzazz for the stalk – full strength for the partial image and stamped off once for the second image. Once that was done to our satisfaction (extra card stock may possibly have been sacrificed here!), we used the embossing buddy to remove any static and then stamped the sentiment from Work of Art in versamark. They of course loved watching the gold come to life under the heat tool. Who wouldn’t? The piece of very vanilla was then mounted on a piece of pear pizzazz and then put onto a card base of lost lagoon with stampin’ dimensionals. The card is a 4.25″ square. So we used the envelope punch board to make an envelope for a 4.5″ square card (a little extra room for the dimensionals), starting with a 7.5″ square of lost lagoon. They were surprised at how easy it is to make custom sized envelopes – I believe that there are measurements for 66 different sizes of envelopes on this handy tool. That’s pretty impressive for a tool that costs under $20.

See you tomorrow,

Liz
