Holly TIEF for a quick and easy card

I hope that you’re all enjoying the close out sale – lots of goodies there on sale, fun isnt it? I decided to highlight a product which is retiring (and still available) and one that is in the annual catalogue and staying with us. I have been using the Holly TIEF quite a lot in my Christmas crafting but you’ve probably not seen it much because I’ve been using it a lot for embossing the envelope flaps. It’s great for that, but it also deserves to be on a card in its own right.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Holly TIEF - Suite Seasons - Layering Ovals Framelits Dies

So here’s a piece of garden green which I dry embossed with the Holly TIEF – before lending the folder to Julia – and then I had to make it into a card. There just happened to be a piece of gold glimmer paper on my desk and this is where the card came from. I used the triple banner punch to add some glitz and even pulled my gold heat embossed favourite sentiment from Suite Seasons from my pile of “waiting to be used”. The green and gold together were nice, but I wanted a bit more pop – so I used the layering ovals framelits dies (LOVE these!! – I ordered the layering circles yesterday at 50% off!) to cut out a scalloped cherry cobbler mat and added the three smallest cherry cobbler enamel dots as the holly berries. With the sentiment popped up over the glimmer paper and a cherry cobbler card base, I really like the fun of this card. And I will be embossing the envelope flap to match.

Just a note about the glimmer paper – it’s not very smooth due to the glitter so the best way to attach anything to it is using the dimensionals and pushing down firmly to ensure a good attachment. And of course popping up the sentiment is aesthetically pleasing also.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get free product; the current one is CBUJ4GTP (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free gift from me).
