Going Places DSP

There’s a gorgeous new paper stack called Going Places in the upcoming catalogue and I included it in my preorder. It’s full of patterns that remind me of the marbled end papers in old books. I wanted to really feature one of them on a card.

Stampin' Up! Going Places DSP and Hello You framelits dies

Beautiful right? I decided that I wanted to line the outside flap of the envelope with the paper also which needs 2.25″ so I cut that piece off leaving me with 3.75″ and I designed the card around that! It means that I have a leftover inch strip and I’m contemplating using that as a banner somewhere else so that nothing is wasted! I matted the DSP with a skinny mossy meadow mat and mounted that on the hello honey card base pulling both colours from the DSP. The happy comes from the Hello You Thinlits dies and lost lagoon seemed to work best – I didn’t want to introduce yet another colour. The fine-tip glue pen did a good job of gluing this down easily.

For the envelope, I attached the 6 by 2.25 inch strip with multipurpose glue and then simply trimmed the edges with my paper snips.

I realise that the recent concentration on birthdays would imply that I’m completely ready for Christmas. I’m not. Not even close. In fact, I’m off work today to finish up the preparations. I’ve been making Christmas cards, on and off, since August so I have quite a stash.

Here’s what I used for today’s card – bear in mind that you can’t order the Going Places DSP stack until January 5th, unless you sign up as a demonstrator. And there’s no reason not to do so. You get to order new product early, you get a discount (up to 25%) and there’s no penalty if you decide it’s not for you. You can just stop any time. It’s that easy. Just click on the join my team tab and follow the instructions there.

See you tomorrow when hopefully I’ll be able to report that I have this Christmas thing completely under control!
