Quiet Meadow

This week I’m focusing on the Quiet Meadow Bundle (155847, $53); here I’m just using the Quiet Meadow stamp set to make a simple sympathy card.

First the flowers were stamped in Mossy Meadow on Sahara Sand and then the sentiment which comes from the Quiet Meadow set. This layer was added to a Mossy Meadow mat and then onto a Sahara Sand card base. I did say it was simple!

I demonstrated this card on my usual Facebook Live at 11am EDT this morning. You can watch the replay or check it out on YouTube; if you do, I’d really appreciate it if you subscribe to my channel.

My BOGO starts on Friday morning – here’s the link to get you into the group where there are over 600 products. https://www.facebook.com/groups/622740681964402/media/albums/

Paper Blooms DSP

This week I’m working with the Sale-a-bration paper, Paper Blooms DSP. It’s a level 1 reward, meaning it’s a $50 order redemption. Don’t forget that this year, Sale-a-bration only runs for 2 months and ends on the 28th of February.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Paper Blooms DSP - Peaceful Moments

On Wednesday I used the Paper Blooms DSP to create a fairly vibrant birthday card. Today I’m showing the versatility of the paper and creating a sympathy card.

As sympathy cards tend to be, this is a very simple card – it’s merely a rectangle of DSP matted in Old Olive and put onto a Soft Sea Foam card base. My preference is to stamp before attaching to the card base just in case there’s an issue. Of course there are ways to hide wonky or halo sentiments but you have more scope if the layer isn’t glued down.

So I like to put the layer where I want it and then ink up the sentiment, move the layer out of the way and stamp. The sentiment comes from  Peaceful Moments; it’s stamped in Old Olive.

I’ll be showing this card and two others using Paper Blooms DSP on Sunday at 11am EST on my Facebook Live.

Touched my Heart

Here’s the third card using this week’s featured set, the host set, Touched my Heart. As you will recall a host set can only be bought with host rewards that are awarded when your order (individual or as a host) is over $150.

This is another simple card (my favourite type) showcasing some of the stamps from the Touched my Heart stamp set. I needed a sympathy card; I’ve never liked cats mostly because they are standoffish and also because I’m allergic to them. But my sister had two cats – one was the usual supercilious type, but Sage seemed to take it as a challenge to make me lose my heart to him. I think he thought he was a dog – he was affectionate and fun loving. Sadly his dog like tendencies led to him playing on a busy road and he didn’t survive. Which is why I needed the sympathy card and the Touched my Heart set seemed perfect.

So this is silver embossing on blackberry bliss with a silver foil mat. Simple, but it gets the point across.

Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments

Here’s my second card this week using the Painted Poppies stamp set. It’s part of a product suite which contains 2 stamp sets – Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments. There are also matching dies but I’m only using the stamps for this card.

Blackberry bliss seems to lend itself to sympathy cards; here I’ve added a silver foil mat even though in the photo it looks grey.

I’m a member of the Talented Tutorial Team and each month the 15 of us create a bundle of 15 tutorials. If you spend $50 with me on product, I’ll send you all 15. Flourishing Phrases

Sympathy cards aren’t much fun to make (although I do believe that making the card yourself is important, but that’s because I feel that way about all cards!) but we do at least have some sets that make it easier. Here I’m featuring Flourishing Phrases which has this beautiful floral image and many sentiments for all occasions.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Flourishing Phrases

I stamped the image on very vanilla in wisteria wonder (wow – there’s not a new in color to be seen today!)  and did the same with the sentiment. The top layer is half a inch smaller than the card base and I added a wisteria wonder layer which is just 1/8 inch larger than the top layer. The card needed just a little something extra and adding pearls to the buds of the floral image was the perfect addition. Flourishing Phrases is a recent acquisition – I can see that I’ll be using it a lot.
