Merry Mistletoe

Today is the second day of sneak peek videos sharing content from the upcoming Holiday catalog. This is only available to demonstrators – but don’t forget that there’s an amazing joining deal right now so you could see the videos too. Yesterday’s was awesome (and all the products are on my wish list) and I’m sure today’s will be great too. This has of course put me in the mood for Christmas cards so I’m sharing one made with products from the annual catalog which are available to all right now – Merry Mistletoe and Sheet Music!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Merry Mistletoe - Sheet Music

The background is a new background stamp called Sheet Music and I stamped it in early espresso stamped off once onto very vanilla. I then added a skinny mat of early espresso to set off the music. MY banner, cut with the triple banner punch, is embossed with clear embossing powder which I sprinkled over the stamped image which I’d inked up in versamark and then cherry cobbler. Instant cherry cobbler embossing. I also added the sprig and embossed that in gold – that’s also from the Merry Mistletoe set. I felt that there was something missing and decided that I needed some ribbon so this card has been waiting for my most recent order which contained the gold natural trim which arrived on Monday. It completes the card perfectly.

Don’t forget that we have bonus days running this month – you get a coupon for every $50 you spend. Don’t give up a 10% discount!

Merry Mistletoe

A few of my friends have mentioned wanting to start making Christmas cards so I’ve started creating so that I can have a class next month. Christmas in July? Why not! Here’s one of the new sets in the annual catalog – Merry Mistletoe along with the new Be Merry designer series paper.

It’s a very simple card – a whisper white card base with a piece of the new Be Merry designer series paper on top. I then heat embossed the fun deer in gold onto more whisper white and gave it a gold foil border. Easy and really elegant. My sister who is visiting has told me that she’ll be upset if she doesn’t get this one for Christmas. I feel a challenge to come up with one she’ll like even more!

Anyway, I hope that you like it too.  Please use the Stampin’ Rewards code to get five FREE handmade cards; the current Stampin’ Rewards code is NJ99GP9Q (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free cards). In addition, to celebrate the new catalog, if you spend $50 this month, I’ll send you the fresh fig 1/8” sheer ribbon. Click here to go to my online shop or here to join my team. Paper Pumpkin February 2017 Alternative 2

I’ve had this card in my head for a week or so but just couldn’t quite finalise it to get to my Paper Pumpkin February 2017 Alternative 2. The “ornament” is actually the candle flame from the kit and thus I’ve actually made a Christmas card in March! I liked the ornament on cherry cobbler but wanted my sentiment in ink rather than heat embossing because the gold embossing powder doesn’t match the ornament. Hence this layout was created.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Paper Pumpkin February 2017 Alternative 2 - Many Happy Birthdays - Embellished Ornaments

The gold thread is held onto the ornament with a glue dot and then wrapped under the cherry cobbler piece and secured there. There’s a slight bump where it goes under the cherry cobbler, but it’s minor. I then popped the ornament up with dimensionals and added a bow with another glue dot. Before constructing the card, I stamped my sentiment from Embellished Ornaments because the extra layer would have messed up the stamp-a-ma-jig – and of course, it’s better to do the sentiment early so that you can flip the cardstock over if necessary!

I glued the cherry cobbler piece to my very vanilla layer, standing them up on my desk so that I could be certain that they were lined up properly. Then I added this to a cherry cobbler card base.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the Stampin’ Rewards code to get a selection of ribbon and sequins (6 yards in all) when your order is $30 or more; the current Stampin’ Rewards code is 34ANVEHC (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free gift). Merriest Wishes for Peter

It’s hard to know what to get your boss as a little gift – especially one who is so fitness focused that means he goes to the gym five days per week and although he keeps a candy bowl on his desk, almost never eats it! I’m trying to emulate him – on the lack of candy eating that is. The gym, not so much although I’m going to try to start running again soon. There. It’s out there in writing so I’ll have to push myself! I decided on a bottle of wine which of course needs a tag, so I whipped one up this morning. I’d lent out my Merriest Wishes set and got it back a day or two back which is why I was so last minute with my bottle topper.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Merriest Wishes - Merry Tags Framelits Dies - Softly Falling TIEF

I cut a piece of whisper white (thinking about it now, it should’ve been the thick whisper white) at 7 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. Odd size you’re thinking? Well yes. I started with 8 by 3 but it drowned my little tag so I cut it down! I cut a hole in the top with a circle framelit (measured first over the bottle for size) and then dry embossed the bottom part with the Softly Falling TIEF.

Next to the fun details. I cut out the tag with the scene from Merry Tags Framelits Dies three times – in whisper white, soft suede and always artichoke and then cut out the deer and trees and glued them on top of the whisper white using my silicone mat and sponge dauber to apply the glue. Next I cut a full sized tab from soft sky and glued my pieced tag onto that. The sentiment is of course from the Merriest Wishes set.

I wonder if subconsciously I selected the colours to match the bottle that I was using for sizing and as a prop. Peter’s not getting this one – it’s only half full, the other half being consumed last night. The Oyster Bay bottle has a blue top that isn’t far off Soft Sky. I will be laughing at myself if I end up selecting a bottle by colour rather than contents!

In case you’re wondering at the lack of Paper Pumpkin alternate ideas, my kit hasn’t come yet. The tracking says that as of a week ago, the Post Office has been sent notification but not the item. Hopefully soon.
