Warmth and Cheer DSP stack

So, have you finished making your Christmas cards yet? Or even writing them? I’m not sure if I’ve made enough, I haven’t been terribly organised in counting them up. And I haven’t started writing them – Martin had a brilliant idea of writing one per day from the beginning of November, it was a great idea, but hasn’t happened! So, in case I’m short of cards, I decided to come up with a fast card – and when I’m looking for that, DSP is a life saver. And with the Warmth and Cheer DSP stack to hand, I decided to use that one.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Warmth and Cheer DSP stack - Star of Light - Triple Banner Punch

I pulled out a sheet of paper and cut it down to 3 3/4″ by 5″ – this gives enough left over to line the envelope flap and with a mat (cherry cobbler) just 1/8″ inch bigger, gives a nice wide border between the mat and the card base – here it’s crumb cake. It would be easy to pull out a framelit (especially one of the stitched shapes that I’m so fond of) but I wanted to also feature the gorgeous mini pinecones. If you cut the strip at exactly one inch, it’s a tight fit into the triple banner punch, so I cut a strip of crumb cake just a 1/16 inch under one inch wide and stamped the sentiment from Star of Light in cherry cobbler. I cut a strip of cherry cobbler 1/4 inch bigger for matting and assembled that together – amazingly I remembered that I wanted to add the pine cones and left space for them. I tied them up with the cherry cobbler twine that was part of the baker’s twine trio pack and attached them with a mini glue dot that I rolled a little to stop it showing. Looks like this is a card that I’ll be hand delivering!

It would be easy to mass produce these – you could cut strips of the crumb cake and cherry cobbler at 4 1/4″ and get two across a regular sheet of card stock. Stamp and then cut them up and assemble. You could easily put together 20 banners pretty quickly after which it’s pretty fast to put together the cards.
