Beauty and Joy again

I’m here with my second card using the Beauty and Joy set. I don’t think that I’d have made this card without my “2 cards per week from a set” challenge that I set myself. That would have been a shame since I really love this card. The gold pot has a lot more texture than in the photo, I just couldn’t get it to show properly. You’ll just have to make it yourself and see how beautiful it is.

The pot and berries are heat embossed in gold, the trunk is soft suede and the greenery is mossy meadow. I’m so glad that Mossy Meadow came back in last year’s colour refresh, I’ve missed it.

Now I’m off to work on this month’s tutorial card – it’s currently drying. It will be available for free starting in January.

Beauty & Joy

Here’s the post featuring the Beauty & Joy set that was scheduled for yesterday until the news of the free shipping for yesterday was announced. So there’s an extra post this week! I hope you took advantage of the free shipping; I know I did!

Beauty and Joy

I think that the Beauty & Joy set is a bit of a sleeper. It doesn’t leap off the page in the catalog but once you start using it you realise how versatile it is. There are 2 containers for your plants, three plants and 3 decorations all for $16 (150518).

Here I used soft suede stamped off once for the basket, then full strength soft suede for the trunk. The leaves are in mossy meadow with the sweet little flowers in rich razzleberry. The sentiment, also from Beauty & Joy is heat embossed in copper.

So Many Stars in copper

Here’s my second card made with the So Many Stars stamp set and although I used similar stamps, it’s very different from Wednesday’s card. There are 2 sets of stamps that are the same sized stars but have different decorations on them so you can ring the changes.

Not only did I use similar stamps, it’s a similar-ish layout. But before I started I used water and the pigment sprinkles on watercolor paper to get a striking background. The stars are heat embossed in copper which led to the copper foil mat and the copper trim. I did cut out a large rectangle of the copper foil since it seemed rather extravagant to use so much that wasn’t seen! Interestingly, I used the Bermuda bay, daffodil delight and a tiny bit of mango melody sprinkles but the card base that worked the best was Shaded Spruce!

So many stars

This week I’ve been playing with the So Many Stars bundle although this card only used the stamp set

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - So many stars

This card is truly deserving of the #SimpleStamping tag! I stamped the three stamps in versamark onto a piece of Shaded Spruce and then heat embossed in silver. A shaded spruce card base completed the card. Quick and easy; I think I’ll make some of these to add to my stash of cards at the craft fair on Saturday.
