No Matter the weather

I’ve been having fun with the extra stamp set included in March’s Paper Pumpkin and thought I’d share an extra card.

No Matter the weather

It’s a simple card using a whisper white notecard and the extra stamp set. I used mango melody and old olive. I also made the envelope match. It’s an easy, simple and elegant card in my opinion. It’s easiest to stamp the floral image first and then add the outline using the labels to help line it up.

No Matter the Weather

This month’s Paper Pumpkin, No Matter the Weather was a special one. Since it was Paper Pumpkin’s 7th birthday, we got an extra stamp set in the subscription box. I haven’t made alternatives for Paper Pumpkin in quite a while but I thought it would be fun to play. And it was!

Here’s one using the extra stamp set. I stamped the basket in Sahara Sand and the flower in lovely lipstick. I using a lot of lovely lipstick at the moment since it will be retiring soon and I love it. I put the basket of flowers onto a layer which I scored to give some interest. Tip – put the card you’re scoring upside down to get a scoring that is embossed rather than debossed.

The basket and flowers are quite easy to line up – just concentrate on the lower left and upper right. They’re easy unless you’re filming and can’t put your head right over it anyway!

There’s a video on my facebook page, My Elegant Cards and on my YouTube channel, My Elegant Cards with Liz Bailey showing me making this.

Ornate Thanks Bundle

Here’s my second card made with the Ornate Garden Suite, this time using the Ornate Thanks Bundle. The suite has loads with which to create.

So this is Lovely Lipstick cardstock and ink with very vanilla. I cut the dies out a few times  thinking to have green with flowers on it but it just wasn’t quite right – presumably the colour combinations were at fault. Then I realised that I didn’t want to trim this border and it’s longer than the card so my planned vertical border went diagonal and I think that the card is better for it! It also allowed me to split up the sentiment for a very balanced look.

Ornate Garden Suite

I’m playing with the newly pre-released Ornate Garden Suite. It’s a new suite in the upcoming catalog but we’re able to purchase it right now. There’s lots to love.

I started with this glorious mint macaron and gold DSP and went from there. One of the dies creates this beautiful (and very uncharacteristic for me) edging. And then a mint macaron card base and a banner in gold embossing using the Ornate Thanks stamp set. This stamp set is pretty amazing – there are masses of sentiments.

Heat embossed Seaside Notions

For my second card using Seaside Notions this week, I decided to use white heat embossing.

This is grapefruit grove card stock (which will be retiring at the beginning of June so stock up now if you love it) and I stamped the shells in versamark and used the white embossing powder. Oddly, the whisper white sentiment that I prepared looked too stark so I’ve actually used very vanilla. I added some of the brand new gilded gems which are part of the Ornate Garden Suite which has been released early and is available for you to purchase now.

I have another card using Seaside Notions which I will share sometime this week.
