Friendly Wishes for CAS Colours & Sketches

Well, it’s Thursday again which means it’s time for another challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. This week it’s Bev’s turn to host and it’s a sketch week.

Stampin' Up! Friendly Wishes

Here’s the banner which inspired my card:

And my best friend Julia inspired also this card and in fact is the reason that I got the Friendly Wishes set. We went out last night for a pedicure – and having just put my foot through an admittedly old sheet, it was definitely time – and as usual we had a blast. It doesn’t really matter what we do though, we always have fun. And we can talk about anything and everything and we usually do! We have each other’s back. Always. I hope that you have a friend like that.

I stamped the sentiment in archival basic black on whisper white, coloured the word using the melon mambo stampin’ write marker and cropped it down closely which gave me a 2 inch wide banner. Perfect for fitting in the triple banner punch. I then cut out another matching banner with melon mambo and cut it exactly in half using the trimmer. I stuck the melon mambo to the whisper white first – I used the grid paper to help me line up the pink so that it was even then I popped up the element with dimensionals. Something was still missing. The little silver metallic heart from the new metallic enamel shapes was the perfect finishing touch.

I hope that you’ll take a look at the challenge site and the inspiration from the rest of the team and have a go yourself. It would be great to see you in the gallery.

See you tomorrow,

Liz

Beautiful sentiment and love how you were inspired by your friend. It is lovely to have friends that you can do and say anything too. Such a happy memory for you to share. Great use of the sketch and love your vibrant colour choice too. Hugs Bev x

I wish I had a friend like that – then I could get you to recreate this card for her! 🙂 I love it – and the lovely little bit of bling on it, too.

All-around great card, from the sentiment to the simple and feminine color scheme and overall very clean look! The shiny heart is the perfect finishing touch.
