Today is the second day of sneak peek videos sharing content from the upcoming Holiday catalog. This is only available to demonstrators – but don’t forget that there’s an amazing joining deal right now so you could see the videos too. Yesterday’s was awesome (and all the products are on my wish list) and I’m sure today’s will be great too. This has of course put me in the mood for Christmas cards so I’m sharing one made with products from the annual catalog which are available to all right now – Merry Mistletoe and Sheet Music!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Merry Mistletoe - Sheet Music

The background is a new background stamp called Sheet Music and I stamped it in early espresso stamped off once onto very vanilla. I then added a skinny mat of early espresso to set off the music. MY banner, cut with the triple banner punch, is embossed with clear embossing powder which I sprinkled over the stamped image which I’d inked up in versamark and then cherry cobbler. Instant cherry cobbler embossing. I also added the sprig and embossed that in gold – that’s also from the Merry Mistletoe set. I felt that there was something missing and decided that I needed some ribbon so this card has been waiting for my most recent order which contained the gold natural trim which arrived on Monday. It completes the card perfectly.

Don’t forget that we have bonus days running this month – you get a coupon for every $50 you spend. Don’t give up a 10% discount!

There’s a fantastic joining offer going on right now, it really is Christmas in July!

Christmas in July

There’s the usual really great deal whereby you select $125 worth of product for just $99 with free shipping. But on top of that, during July Stampin’ Up! adds an Essentials Kit automatically. It contains:

Paper Snips

Grid Paper

2 D blocks

Snail adhesive

Bone folder

This is an added value of $52 but as if this isn’t enough, they are ALSO adding a set that is only on pre-order currently for demonstrators, Carols for Christmas ($20 value). So that’s actually $197 of product for $99 with free shipping  (the shipping on $197 would be $19.70) plus supplies in case you want to build a business. Here’s the stamp set:

I welcome business builders or hobbiests – I started this because I wanted a discount on my hobby. Once you join, you get an instant 20% discount with the ability to push that to 25% quite easily. And as long as you stay in good standing ($300 of sales per quarter where sales to yourself count), you continue to get your discount. If you don’t want to continue, just stop. It’s that easy. No issues. The first partial quarter doesn’t count, so joining now would mean that you have until the end of the year to get your sales to $300.

Please use the Stampin’ Rewards code to get five FREE handmade cards; the current Stampin’ Rewards code is ZDSGJ9U3 (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free cards). I’ve been having a fun day playing with some of the product that arrived a few days ago – as you saw, it was a large box! And I was having so much fun, that I forgot to write a blog post until now! So here’s one I made this morning using the More Than Chocolate stamp set. A reminder of my box…

box of product

The mini dimensionals are awesome – they are perfect for putting on the paper pierce tool and just nudging under the edge of a already popped up sentiment to give a little more sturdiness. And I love the fresh fig 1/8 inch sheer ribbon that you can see in the box. As you can see from the card that I’m sharing.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - More Than Chocolate

I used fresh fig for the chocolate box and the sentiment – and it’s a great sentiment. And so true! And then I decided to go for monochromatic chocolates – just stamped in early espresso and left the decorative swirls on the top for another time. I really like how clean this makes it and it meant that I could add a bow in the new fresh fig ribbon without the card being overpowered. This is a really fun set – I just started adding chocolates at random, filling in the spaces as I went. My first play had the chocolates too regimented, I much prefer this irregular look.

I matted the very vanilla with a piece of early espresso just 1/8 inch large so there’s teeny tiny border which mimics the thickness of the chocolate box and left a wide border showing of the fresh fig card base.

Here’s another fun stamp set that’s now on the low inventory list – Pineapple. It’s a really fun, huge stamp which can be great for welcoming people or showing gratitude. Here are some of the cards that I’ve made with it. Click on the photos to go to the original posts.

Here was a first look at last year’s in colors

Stampin' Up! Pineapple and Watercolor Wishes

and a last look at out going ones

Stampin' Up! Pineapple and Welcome Words

Here I discovered that always artichoke was a good substitute for the retired mossy meadow

Stampin' Up! Pineapple - Paisleys & Posies

When doing the pineapple in 2 colours, it was definitely a lot easier to plan something over the join – a banner or ribbon. With the curve between the fruit and the stalks (seen easily in the first card) you can see that it’s hard to get a perfect color change. Covering it up makes it a lot easier!

I am really sad that the Hello You Thinlits Dies are retiring – I often reach for them for the finishing touch for a card as can be seen here. If you imagine the card without the hello, it’s nothing much. Add the lovely copper foil word and there’s fun.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Hello You Thinlits Dies

I’m continuing on my quest to make cards using DSP so as to make room for the new beautiful DSP coming our way soon! This beautiful patterned paper comes from the Fruit Stand DSP (currently still available and on sale for $8.80); I love the soft watercolored look. I’ve just cut a rectangle of the DSP ( 4 1/2″ by 3 1/4″) and then matted it with a piece of peekaboo peach that is 1/8 inch larger so that there’s a tiny 1/16 inch border all around. This is then put onto a card base of thick whisper white. I can’t wait to get the thick very vanilla that’s in the new catalog!

Then I cut out the hello from the Hello You Thinlits Dies in copper foil and used the silicone craft mat, a dauber and tombow to glue it on. You put glue on the dauber and then dab most of it off so that you’re only dabbing a little onto the back of the sentiment. As long as you don’t allow the sentiment to move, there’s no glue on the front and no oozing from the back.

Here are a few other cards I’ve made with the Hello You thinlits dies
