Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies

I bought the Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies pretty early on in the life of the Occasions catalog and I have no idea why I haven’t used them yet. I love them. And sadly, they are on the retiring list – although they are on sale for $17.50 instead of $25 so that’s a good deal! By the way, the accompanying stamp set, That’s the Tag, is also on sale ($14.45 instead of $17) but the bundle isn’t, so it’s a better deal to buy them singly for a total of $31.95 instead of the bundle price of $37.75. But I digress. These are really fun and not just limited to tags. I made a card to showcase the versatility.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies - Vertical Greetings

I cut out the tag in some scrap paper and used my aquapainter and some inks to color the picture. Once I had a general idea of placement, I removed my piece of scrap and added more colour where it needed and blended away. The colors used are soft sky, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie and pear pizzazz. Once I had my piece of watercolor paper as I wanted, I cut out a new tag from a piece of watercolor paper  where I wanted it on the card. Next I added the greeting from Vertical Greetings (not retiring thank goodness) in pumpkin pie. I glued the outlining piece of watercolor paper to the painted piece and then added that to my card layer. To ensure that the card didn’t sag since the painted piece was small, I added strips of watercolor to keep the height the same and then glued the piece to a daffodil delight cardbase.

I’m really happy with how this came out – a few inks and an aquapainter can work wonders. But if you want these dies, act swiftly. I’m quite stunned at how fast some of the products are moving. The good news is that here in the states, the stamp sets are guaranteed to be available until May 22nd. My sister and friends in the UK don’t even have that – they are on whilst stocks last for everything. So I feel quite privileged!
