Succulent Garden DSP on my phone

I was reading Pootles‘ website last week and she showed a project where she inserted a piece of DSP inside a see through phone cover. I’ve been meaning to get a new cover because mine had lost a little piece and this was enough to have me running to amazon and getting my own see through case. Then came the hard part. Choosing which paper to use. I’d just made a card using a piece of mint macaron and whisper white pattern from the Succulent Garden DSP and I love it. So that was candidate number one!

I started by using a piece of scrap paper and drawing around my old case. After cutting this out, I held it over the new case and started taking off thin strips – about 1/8 inch off both dimensions was perfect although I didn’t realise that at the time. I cut a little extra off the length and THEN found my corner rounder and punched each corner. It fit beautifully apart from being too short. Whilst it was in the case, I drew around the hole in the case and then snipped that out with my scissors. Now that I had my pattern created, it was a simple matter of cutting the Succulent Garden DSP piece to size and drawing the line for the camera hole. I love how this looks on my phone, it has made it look totally new.

I was so happy with it, that I had to make another – this one is the copper embossed paper from Affectionately Yours. I can see that there are going to be frequent changes!

I’ve been mentioning the great deal that during Sale-a-bration (ends March 31st) you get a freebie for each time you spend $50 (before taxes and shipping) but what I should also be mentioning is what a fantastic deal you can get if you join the stampin’ up family during this time. You get to select ANY products of up to $125 and pay just $99 with free shipping. You can also select ANY two stamp sets for free which are worth up to $104. But if you so choose, you can continue to get the discount (at least 20%) and see new products early and be eligible to attend Stampin’ Up! events and basically have a great time meeting new people.
