Star of Light for CAS Colours & Sketches

I’m still using the Star of Light set but today it’s not a Christmas card. I thought after 4 or 5 days of Christmas, it was time for a break!  This is the fifth Thursday in the month which means that it’s time for the dreaded double at CAS Colours & Sketches and it’s the last week for Karen as hostess for a while. I know that people fear the double – I did – but it’s a lot of fun. It also tends to lead to other designs as you get carried away either with the colours OR the sketch and then realise that you’ve wandered off at a tangent and are not using both which you must do to fulfill the challenge requirements.

Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Star of Light - Love & Affection

And here are the challenge requirements:

The left hand element looked a bit like torn paper to me which I never do; it’s just not clean enough for me so I needed an alternative. What a surprise – I picked up the Star of Light swoosh! I stamped that down the left hand of my very vanilla and then used a piece of rich razzleberry ribbon from the Holiday catalog as the stripe. This was a useful element because I love the mint macaron with the rich razzleberry but I’m not so fond of the tangerine tango with the mint macaron so the ribbon stripe is keeping them separated!

The sentiment is from Love & Affection and after I’d stamped it, I felt (unusually) that there was just a little too much white space so out came the enamel shapes in rich razzleberry to finish off the card.

I hope that you’ll head over to the challenge site to check out the rest of the design team’s creations and to have a go yourself.

See you tomorrow,

Liz
