Santa Popcorn

Today I’m sharing a project I made for a recent craft fair. I only did one this year since I wasn’t sure how my energy level would hold up; I’m happy to say that I made it through the fair but I needed a lot of sleep to recover! It took me quite a while to make my things for the fair too – just a few at a time. Anyway, if you need a simple project for your kids’ teachers or friends, here’s one that you can make very quickly.

I simply measured the microwave popcorn packet, cut some cherry cobbler to size and wrapped it around the popcorn. For my popcorn packets, I used 9″ by 6″ which meant that I got 2 wrappers out of a sheet of 12 by 12 with a 3 by 12 piece leftover. For the belt, I glued a buckle made from 2 retired ornate punches. Punch the smaller one first so that you can line up the bigger, it’s much easier that way. Ask me how I know! The buttons are punched out with the half inch circle punch. I also used one of the pieces left over to make a little gift card holder and used circle punches for the belt. I didn’t actually finish the gift card holder in time for the fair; I ran out of time or more accurately, energy. But I’m thrilled to be back doing some crafting and blogging.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
