Paisley Framelits Dies

I’m feeling a little sad today; sometimes people behave in a totally unacceptable and hurtful way and your only choice is to walk away. But when you walk away, you’re always walking away FROM something that you probably liked; hence the sadness. So I wanted to focus on positives today and made this card to celebrate them – isn’t the sentiment beautiful? And I am now possibly ADDICTED to the paisley framelits dies and the matching Paisleys and Posies stamp set which can be bought together as a bundle.

I started by stamping the sentiment in versamark and sprinkled on the copper embossing powder. This meant that I had my placement down and could just fit all the paisleys and posies around. So I stamped a random assortment of the images in old olive, filling in spaces with some of the little stamps. But then I wanted to elevate one of them and match the copper by adding copper foil. I found that I could cut out a copper foil paisley shape which perfectly borders one of the stamped shapes – as long as you cut it out with its framelit and make it a touch smaller than it started. I glued this onto the copper with glue dots (it slides around otherwise) and then popped this up with dimensionals. Whilst I was cutting out the foil, I also cut out some of the other shapes and they are beautiful in foil. I’m certain I’ll be playing with these at the weekend or very soon – they won’t stay long on my “use later” pile.

This card might look familiar if you have looked at everything closely in the Holiday catalogue – I CASEd a card on page 46. If you don’t have a catalogue and would like one (and you’re in the US), let me know and I’ll pop one in the post.
