Balloon Celebration

The oldest son of a former colleague graduates from High School this week and Peter, my boss, suggested we take up a collection. We lost Chris to leukemia on Christmas day two years ago and we like to show that we have not forgotten him. He comes up in conversation a lot. So here’s a LARGE card using Balloon Celebration (so that the whole department can sign it) and three of the new in-colors that will be available for you to purchase next Friday – assuming that you haven’t already taken advantage of the early release to get the set of 5.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Balloon Celebration

I folded a piece of blueberry bushel cardstock in half to create a card that is 5.5 by 8.5 inches. Hopefully that’s big enough! The base layer is very vanilla and I punched out balloons from lucky lipstick, blueberry bushel and call me clover. I love these new colours, they are so bright and cheerful and intensely coloured – nothing wishy washy here! I found that it’s easiest to add the bubbles before punching – especially when I was doing the silver heat embossing. For the congrats, I used the multipurpose adhesive sheets on some lucky lipstick before cutting out the sentiment – which is from the Sunshine wishes thinlits dies – which makes is SO easy to adhere. I added a mat of lucky lipstick and the card was complete. Now all I need to do it make an envelope – although it seems impossibly big, I just need a piece 11 by 11 inches and my envelope punch board.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

Abstract Impressions

Today I’m sharing a lot of new things from the upcoming catalog, live on June  1st – a new stamp set Abstract Impressions and four new ink colours – call me clover, shaded spruce, gorgeous grape and highland heather. I only have the ink pads for the new in colors (of which call me clover is one) but I do have all the new markers. In fact, the only thing on this card that you’ve seen before is the whisper white layer!

I love the mixture of call me clover and shaded spruce in the greenery – not so different as to be really noticeable, but adds dimension. The stamp set is really fun; there are many images which allow you to build totally different cards.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

If you’re in the US and don’t currently work with a demonstrator, let me know if you’d like a catalog and I’ll send one off to you.

Call Me Clover

Today I’m sharing with you one of the new colours which will be available on June 1 – Call Me Clover. I used my brayer and the Call Me Clover much improved ink pad and added colour to the Petal Passion DSP. With a mat of basic black and a Call Me Clover card base, I think it’s a rather luxurious card. This is going to be one of my new favourite greens, I think. Actually so many of the new colours are calling to me that I suspect I’m going to have a lot of favourites. It’s actually more of an emerald green but my computer and camera and the morning light do not appear to agree!

I decided that I didn’t want a big sentiment covering up much of the DSP, so I used the retiring cupcake cutouts framelits dies to add a gold glimmer word, wish. I hope that you like it – don’t forget framelits are on an “as supplies last” basis so click on the Shop Now button below and check out the Last Chance List offerings. Add the hostcode (over there on the left) and you’ll be able to earn free product.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

Farewell to Flurry of Wishes

Flurry of wishes is on the retiring list but is still available until May 25th. The matching punch, Snow Flurry, was retired last year but it’s currently available on the clearance rack at a discounted price – $10.80 for a punch is a steal.

Here I used the snowflakes with white craft ink to make a background and one of the sentiments. That one has been used a lot. The deer is from Merry Mistletoe which is also retiring.

Here’s a card showing one of the other great sentiments – as well as the detail of the snowflakes, heat embossed in silver.

Stampin' Up! Flurry of Wishes and Winter Wonderland Embellishment

Do you remember where you were when you make some of your cards? I remember making this last card at a crop. Mostly because I struggled so hard to use the embellishment. I’d started off the card with the goal of using this embellishment and caused much hilarity as my friends watched my indecision!

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards from the past.

Bye bye bundle – Colorful Seasons

Colorful Seasons is an incredibly versatile bundle which is carrying over, but the 10% saving is not. It really is perfect to use for every season.

Here’s one of my favourite Christmas cards that I made last year in tranquil tide with gold heat embossing and die cuts from this bundle.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies - Colorful Seasons - Star of Light

Here’s a reminder – just a simple stamped card showcasing a wonderful sentiment. The little mat of berry burst interrupting all the whisper white makes for a supremely elegant card in my opinion.

and here’s some advice for all of us in another simply stamped card. I like how the colored card base (berry burst) makes this card look so different from the one above.

Here’s a Stampin’ Up! photo showing how you can use this all year around

su seasons

As you can see, Colorful Seasons is a very versatile bundle; grab it now before you lose the 10% saving.

I hope you enjoyed today’s review.
