Merriest Wishes

I wanted to feature the Merriest Wishes stamp set and that grew into this card! I seem to be back in Christmas card making mode – tomorrow should be different!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Merriest Wishes - Merry Tags - This Christmas Specialty DSP

I used a piece of DSP from the This Christmas specialty DSP paper and wrapped two pieces of the gold satin ribbon around it to make it look like a parcel. I tied the bow as well. It was clear that the underlying ribbon was too wide and wasn’t going to look as if the ribbon was one piece tied in a bow so I used a few glue dots to pull the ribbon together so as to give the impression that it was tied. You can see how on the right hand side of the bow, the ribbon isn’t it’s full width and looks as it it’s drawn into a bow? Yup. Glue dots!

Next I made the tag. First I used versamark and gold embossing powder for the sentiment which is from the Merriest Wishes set and cut it out with the coordinating Merry Tags framelits dies. I then cut it out again in garden green and crumb cake and carefully snipped the trees and the deer and glued them onto my very vanilla one. Since I didn’t want to introduce another colour, I cut out a plain tag disc again using the framelits in very vanilla and glued that onto the back. I attached the tag using the garden green twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack and then used more glue dots to adhere the bow. I really like how this came out although I think the tag steals the show!

See you tomorrow,

Liz
