Here are two things which are retiring in a couple of weeks – the hexagon punch and the It’s My Party DSP stack. Both, as of this morning, are still available. The punch is extremely useful for cutting the ends of banners or, as in this case, for using up scraps.

The DSP scraps are all from the It’s My Party DSP, a very happy stack. I punched out about 10 in various scraps as well as a couple in crushed curry. I stamped the sentiment on one of these also in crushed curry ink. I’d tell you where the sentiment is from, but I can’t find it – I’ve sorted out my sets into current, retired but I’m keeping and retired and a quick look through this morning hasn’t helped. It is a very similar sentiment to one in the Sale-a-bration set, Party Pants. I eventually will locate the set and I’ll update this. Edit: I located the stamp set – it’s Sunburst Sayings.

Then comes the fun piece – take a piece of whisper white and start arranging the hexagons. For this arrangement I decided that I wanted them falling down the page. Once I had them laid out, I started at the bottom right and worked up one. Then I started at the top left – hoping I’d got my placement pretty close – and worked down. I’ve noted before that the hexagon isn’t totally perfect so I like to pop up at least one of the hexagons to disguise this. I did this again today, popping up the sentiment one. Here’s a better view of that.

And that’s it – a quick and easy card which uses up scraps. What more could you ask for?
