Christmas Pines

Today I’m finally pulling out the Christmas Pines and matching Pretty Pines thinlits dies. They were one of the must haves in the holiday catalogue but somehow, I’ve not used the whole set together. Hence I was thrilled to see that they are carrying over so that I can really play with them.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Christmas Pines - Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies

I used the snowflake stamp in the Christmas Pines set for my background and heat embossed that in silver. I wanted some of the snowflakes on the pines but didn’t want to be too heavy handed. So I stamped and heat embossed a number of times on a piece of garden green and then cut the pines out from that. So there are little speckles of silver, but not too much. Next I added the sentiment from the same set, stamped in cherry cobbler.

I used the glue tip, I’ve shared once before that I saw online. You use a sponge dauber and carefully dab on a little glue to the cardstock piece whilst it’s on the silicone craft mat. As long as you keep your diecut still, it won’t have glue on the front and you won’t have oozing. The excess glue on the mat just rubs off once it’s dry. Next I pulled out the silver thread from a piece of twine in November’s paper pumpkin (must make some more alternatives with that) and used that to tie a couple of the jingle bells onto a cherry cobbler bow and then attached that to the card with a mini glue dot. A garden green card base finished off the card.

Don’t forget the great close out sale currently going on and also the offer from me – a new, free stamp set. Just spend $40 with me and use the workshop code CBUJ4GTP, and you get to select one of Hey, Chick, Delicate Details or Designer Tee which I’ll send you for free once I close out this workshop on January 3rd. Check here for the details and also pictures of these stamp sets. If you spend $60, I’ll send you the pearl or rhinestone basic jewels as well. Email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com to let me know which of the sets you’d like and whether you’d like pearls or rhinestones (if you’ve earned them), or I’ll just select one at random.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get free product; the current one is CBUJ4GTP (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free gift from me).
