Olive Branch

This week I’m using the stamp set Olive Branch and here’s my fairly predictable, first card.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - My Elegant Cards - Olive Branch

I tried Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Shaded Spruce for this and pulled up an image of a real olive tree to decide on the color. After consultation with my brother we decided that Soft Succulent was probably closest but that Evening Evergreen looked better. So, Evening Evergreen it is!

I stamped the image onto a white layer including the sentiment from Olive Branch. Next I added an Evening Evergreen mat and then added that to a white card base. Clean and simple.

I’ll be making this card plus 2 others using this set at my Facebook Live on Sunday at 11am Eastern. I will also post the video to YouTube.

Sorry for Everything

My brother came home a day or so ago with the news that my favourite project manager is leaving tomorrow. He’s one of the rare creatures who can run a project without masses of meetings – and those that he does hold usually finish early. So I wanted to make a card to wish him well. I’d just received the Sorry For Everything set and it seemed perfect for making a card for Pat.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Sorry for Everything - Layering Leaves Dynamic TIEF - Layering Ovals Framelits Dies

I really liked the card I made recently with lemon lime twist and black and decided to go with that color way again. First I heat embossed the Sorry in black but I inked up the stamp in versamark and then basic black so that I have a good background of black before sprinkling on the embossing powder. I then cut it out with the largest oval from the layering ovals framelits dies. I then discovered that the largest scalloped die in this set is slightly smaller than the oval so that scuppered the plan for a little border. Instead, I decided to bring in some black with some of the Pick a Pattern washi tape. First I used the layering leaves dynamic TIEF on a piece of lemon lime twist which I cut half an inch smaller than the card base (don’t forget to spritz it with water first) and then matted it with a piece of basic black cut 1/8 inch larger. I put this onto a lemon lime twist card base and popped up the sentiment with loads of dimensionals. Inside the card I put another sentiment from the Sorry For Everything set – “to see you go”. I think this is going to be a really useful set.
