Elephant Parade

The product of the week is the Elephant Parade set. I really like this little elephant so I gave him a balloon.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - My Elegant Cards - Elephant Parade - Stitched Rectangular dies

As before I stamped the elephant in Memento Tuxedo Black and added the balloon too. Then I coloured him in using Basic Grey, Pacific Point and Melon Mambo for the inside of his ears. Of course I used Wink of Stella to smooth out the lines and to add a little shimmer.

The focal point was matted in Pacific Point and added to a white card base. The sentiment, from the Elephant Parade set, was stamped in Pacific Point. After cutting it out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, it was added to the card using dimensionals.

I previously created a baby girl card and wanted to create a card for a baby boy too. For this card, I just added a basic black mat.

As before, the elephant was stamped in Memento Tuxedo black on a piece of Whisper White. Next I grabbed some watercolor pencils, namely Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point. Using Wink of Stella I smoothed out the pencil lines as well as adding a little shimmer.

This was then added to a Basic Black mat and then to a Balmy Blue card base. Finally the sentiment, from Elephant Parade, was stamped in Memento tuxedo black.

I made this card along with 2 others using this set at my Facebook Live yesterday. Check out the video on Facebook or YouTube. If you share my live, you’re added to next week’s raffle.

Elephant Parade

The product of the week is the Elephant Parade set. I thought this stamp lent itself to a baby card and since I’m short of those, I took the opportunity to restock.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - My Elegant Cards - Elephant Parade

The elephant was stamped in Memento Tuxedo black on a piece of Whisper White. Next I grabbed some watercolor pencils, namely Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black and Pacific Point. Using Wink of Stella I smoothed out the pencil lines as well as adding a little shimmer.

This was then added to a Blushing Bride card base since Flirty Lamingo was a bit dark. Finally the sentiment, from Elephant Parade, was stamped in tuxedo black.

I’ll be making this card along with 2 others using this set at my Gacebook Live on Sunday at 11am eastern. Those who place an order with me of $25 or more receive a pack of the card pieces needed to make the cards. Also if you share my live, you’re added to next week’s raffle.

See you on Sunday,

Perfectly Paired in pastels

I liked the Perfectly Paired baby card from Sunday (which I coloured with blends) so much that I decided to make another  only this time using watercolour pencils for a more traditional look. I have 2 work colleagues who are expecting in April so I need some more!

Perfectly Paired in pastels

I laid down the colour and then used a blender pen to smooth out the pencil lines, adding more when necessary. This time I used an early espresso mat on top of the petal pink card base. Page down and see the one coloured with blends, which do you prefer?

The blends are more intense and easy to get the colour down. But the pencils are easier to avoid colour  bleeding and therefore easier to use.

It’s a great set for baby cards, Perfectly Paired, 148712 for $19.

Perfectly Paired

A friend of mine has just had a baby which gave me an excuse to get out Perfectly Paired. It’s an adorable set as you can see.

Liz Bailey - Perfectly Paired

I decided to use the blends because I have a lot of colours and spent a happy hour coloring in a couple of the images. Although a baby usually means pastel monochromatic cards, I wanted to go with vibrant colours. This meant stamping in memento ink and since the stamp is quite large, I decided to mount it on my stamparatus to ensure that I got a good image – it’s a good thing I did, the crocs were a bit shy and had to be inked up again.

Here are the blends that I used, both light and dark unless otherwise stated ($9 for the combo packs mentioned below):

Pool Party (144605)

old olive (144597)

lovely lipstick (147281)

soft suede (147273)

smoky slate (145058)

dark mango melody (147944; $4.50)

ivory (144606; $4.50)

and the stamp set is Perfectly Paired (148712; $18)

I matted in black and placed that on a lovely lipstick card base. Then I decided it needed some sparkly so I added some wink of Stella to the water.

Sale-a-bration is always a marvelous time – for every $50 you spend on product, you can choose a special free Sale-a-bration item – this is in addition to your stamping’ rewards (assuming your order or party is at least $150). There are also some bigger ones available with a $100 purchase. It ends at the end of the month, so take a look soon. If you spend $150 with me by the end of Sale-a-bration you are invited – or you get a package sent – to my Sale-a-bration celebration.

It’s also a great time to join: you get $175 of product of your choice for just $99 and the shipping is free. Email or call me if you have question.

Farewell to Moon Baby

In continuing my series of blogs highlighting the stamp sets that I’m disappointed are leaving us, I went through the last chance products section of the online shop. And found that there are rather a lot on my list that I want to point out! Moon Baby was a real favourite of mine when making baby cards and I’m going to miss this one.

Here’s a selection of the cards that I made with it. Click on the photo to go to a post with more details.

As you can see, you can make adorable cards with this set. It’s guaranteed to be available until May 25th but consumables like paper and ink are as supplies last. The good news is that the watercolor pencils are in the next catalog, so now worries there. But don’t delay if you want any of the other products.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
