We’ve just had five people promoted at work and I therefore need a few more congratulations cards! I pulled out the Bookcase Builder stamp set with the really gorgeous sentiment – I love the typeface. And then there are all the fun items to put on the shelves.
After a few test runs, I got the shelf and sentiment placement where I wanted them – and stamped in early espresso – and stamped the trophy in delightful dijon and then the wine carafe. And then I realised why the top of the carafe was flat. It isn’t a carafe, it’s a lamp. Oops! I showed my brother and told him that I was puzzled why the top of the carafe was flat and he said he thought it was awesome – it would stop it rolling around the table like ours do since they don’t have flat tops. He laughed and laughed when I showed him that it was actually a lamp. Although he prefers it as a carafe! But I started again and this time got my pear pizzazz lamp the right way up and moved onto the plant. The bottles and teddy bear filled up the lower shelf and then it was a question of matting the piece of whisper white. I continued the early espresso colour with a really slim mat (just 1/8 inch larger) and put that onto a delightful dijon cardbase. One down and a few to go – I’ll check my stash for a supply so that I can get these out in a timely fashion – or maybe I’ll make more like this but using different items on the shelves; I’ve only used about a quarter of the shelf items in bookcase builder so far. Either way, It’s so fun to celebrate promotions with a handmade card.
