Boho Chic embossing folder

Here is a card showcasing a couple of sneak peeks from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which is due to be unveiled next Tuesday.

Stampin' Up! Yippee-Skippee!

It is also using Yippee-Skippee! which is on the retiring list so if you want it, you need to get it asap! I stamped the sentiment on very vanilla in mint macaron (yes the spelling is correct, it’s the meringue type cookie, not a coconut macaroon), one of the new in colours and cut it out with one of the circles framelits. I used the next size up to cut out the mat. The background is made using another new item in the upcoming catalog, the Boho Chic embossing folder. I used a brayer to ink up the side of the folder that does not have the Stampin’ Up! logo on it so that the colour was pushed into the paper. I then matted that with more mint macaron and adhered it to a very vanilla card base. The sentiment is popped up on stampin’ dimensionals.

I’d like to say that I decided to decorate the envelope flap in the same fashion whilst I still had the brayer and embossing folder inked up, but sadly no. That idea didn’t come to me until today, a couple of days after I’d made the card. I was going to make an envelope using the new envelope paper, but it’s in mint macaron and white, not very vanilla. I’m really pleased with how the envelope matches so I’m happy that I didn’t have any paper with mint macaron and very vanilla.

See you tomorrow,

Liz

What a great technique, Liz! Thanks for sharing, I’m off to play with my embossing folders and brayer! Love the simplicity of this card. Really striking.
