Blossom Builder Punch for embossing

I wanted to showcase the Blossom Builder Punch again, but this time without the stamp set. And I decided to have a go at a technique I saw on Brian King’s blog which he calls faux embossing. Martin commented that it was a bit subtle and that the test would be whether I could photograph it!

I punched out a number of the pieces and in the end decided to just use the stars and leaves on this card. I used the multipurpose tombow glue to randomly atttach stars and leaves to a piece of card. I then ran it through the big shot with my precision plate and one clear plate to squash it a little to give more of the embossed look. I think this photo shows it better:

I then attached it to a melon mambo mat and then moved onto the sentiment. This is from Suite Sayings (love this set) from the annual catalog and I’ve of course stamped in melon mambo. I cut it out using the new layering ovals framelits; I also cut a scalloped piece as a mat but it didn’t really fit with the rest of the card. Instead for a little decoration, I used the 1/8″ stitched ribbon which I just happen to have in the matching melon mambo!

I hope that I’ve shown you some of the fun that you can have with the blossom builder punch.

See you tomorrow,

Liz
