Beautiful You and an Aquapainter

I made a number of cards using Beautiful You as soon as I got it – and in fact made a box to hold them which I’ll share later on. This card uses the regular whisper white card stock which is still my preference for stamping. It’s been pressed so that the surface is beautifully smooth and perfect for stamping. The thick whisper white is wonderful for card bases since it’s more sturdy, but it’s not as perfectly smooth for stamping. So I use both.

I used the aquapainter with a tiny amount of water (easier to control) because the whisper white won’t absorb much and did a very quick wash over the girl’s dress. The umbrella was stamped on a piece of pool party from the Subtles DSP stack and then snipped out and glued over the original stamped umbrella. With a skinny black mat as a frame and one of the sentiments on the pool party card base, I was almost done.

Since I had the Subtles DSP stack out, I cut a piece to put over the envelope flap to pull it all together. I’m planning a class based around this set in early February (the 5th) in case you’re local and interested.

Don’t forget the great close out sale currently going on and also the offer from me – a new, free stamp set. Just spend $40 with me and use the workshop code CBUJ4GTP, and you get to select one of Hey, Chick, Delicate Details or Designer Tee which I’ll send you for free once I close out this workshop on January 3rd. Check here for the details and also pictures of these stamp sets. If you spend $60, I’ll send you the pearl or rhinestone basic jewels as well. Email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com to let me know which of the sets you’d like and whether you’d like pearls or rhinestones (if you’ve earned them), or I’ll just select one at random.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get free product; the current one is CBUJ4GTP (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free gift from me). Really elegant and stylish! I think this set really lends itself to simplicity. The polka dots on the umbrella is the perfect touch along with your coloring and monochromatic theme.

Thanks Michelle; elegance is what I strive for! I agree that the set is begging for simple cards. Luckily, that’s my favourite type. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
