Paper Pumpkin January 2016 Alternate 2

Here’s the last Valentine’s card for this year. I meant to post it yesterday of course but I’ve spent the last two days elevating my ankle as often as possible. It aches if I sit in a chair – presumably two days in the office in a row were a bit too much. It’s lucky that I can work from home.

Stampin' Up! Acorny Thank You and January 2016 Paper Pumpkin

I made this during my melon mambo phase at the crop and it was liked so much that I had to make a spare one for a fellow cropper. It’s a pretty good feeling when someone really wants one of your cards. It was also a pretty good feeling when Acorny Thank You made it to the list of continuing sets and I wanted to combine it with the Paper Pumpkin January 2016 set, Cute Conversations, to make a Valentine’s card. I carefully used the acorn builder punch to cut out an acorn as far away from the edge as possible. Then I stamped the dotty acorn hat and the sentiment and cut out both of these with the punch. I then layered the whisper white piece over a square of melon mambo cardstock, popping it up on dimensionals. The dotty hat was then added through the hole to ensure that I got it in the right place. The right hand acorn was then carefully glued only on one side and then added. I figured out the placement and then stamped the XOXO which comes from the January 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit. Then, after that was safely stamped, I glued down the square of melon mambo.

I lined the envelope with the envelope liners framelits and the retired backgrounds DSP from the brights collection.

Today’s the last day that you can be guaranteed to be able to get the three limited time freebies from the Sale-a-bration catalogue and it marks half way through what is the best sale of the year! It’s also half way through your opportunity to join Stampin’ Up! and get $155 worth of product for $99 with free shipping. There’s no risk because if you like, that can be the last time you ever buy anything. That’s a lot of free product…

See you tomorrow,

Liz
