Acorny Thank You PPA275

I think that this is a first – I don’t believe that I’ve ever used two different DSPs on a card before. I struggle to use one, to be honest. But I’ve recently realized that the way to use the things that I find hard is to start the card with them rather than hoping that they will somehow fall into place on the card. I recently used an enamel dot. Only one, it is true, but it’s the first time I’ve put a dot on a card and I don’t even own any candy dots.

This card is inspired by the current challenge at Pals Paper Arts.

I’ve been playing with the Acorny Thank You set a bit lately and these colours seemed as if they’d be fun with it. But this time, I decided to use some DSP – this is the Sweet Li’l Things DSP and I intended on having a band of the tangelo twist DSP but somehow it ended up punched out with the acorn punch instead. And then the hello honey paper seemed to partner so well. I glued the tops onto the acorns and played with them across the page trying to find the look that I wanted. I ended up with the perfect place for the sentiment – it’s from the Acorny Thank You set – and tried to glue everything down without messing up the layout. I had another acorn punched out and I used that to mark where each acorn was supposed to go whilst I added glue to the back. I’ve put the acorns onto very vanilla card stock because the DSP has very vanilla in it – I’m so glad that more of the DSPs are very vanilla since I tend to choose that more than whisper white. I’ve made a skinny mat of tangelo twist before mounting this onto a blackberry bliss cardstock. The envelope is lined with some retired backgrounds DSP and using the envelope liners framelits.

I can’t believe that we’re only 7 months away from these colours retiring, they are so gorgeous, it’s going to be hard to see them go. I think I may be concentrating on them for a while – in between my Christmas cards.

See you tomorrow,

Liz

Thanks Brian – I’m completely addicted to the acorn stamps and punch. Which is a bit odd seeing as I once went out for a run and stepped on one and sprained an ankle!
