Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies

After forgetting to use tranquil tide yesterday, I decided to make it the star of the show today. And with an upcoming Christmas card class on my mind, I combined the two to produce what I think is a really elegant Christmas card featuring the Seasonal Layers Thinlits dies and its matching stamp set, Colorful Seasons.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies - Colorful Seasons - Star of Light

I cut out one of the snowflakes on gold foil and then remembered my multipurpose adhesive sheets – so I adhered some of the sheet behind the foil and cut out three more. Colorful Seasons is an extremely versatile set covering all the seasons, but there’s no Christmas greeting so I turned to one of my current favourite sets, Star of Light for my greeting. I placed my die cut snowflakes where I wanted them but didn’t glue them down in case anything went wrong with my heat embossing. And then stamped my greeting in versamark and also the smaller snowflakes from Colorful Seasons. Only once my gold heat embossing went off without a hitch, did I peel the backing off the gold foil snowflakes and put them in place on my tranquil tide layer. I’d considered a gold foil border for the layer but it was just too much and all the card needed was to be put onto a tranquil tide base.

I can see that the beautiful snowflake from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies is likely to feature on a number of my Christmas cards this year. It’s beautiful and with the multipurpose adhesive sheets, easy to handle. I did find that a couple of passes through the big shot to be helpful when cutting it out though.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Naturally Eclectic DSP

Today’s card is showcasing one of my favorite papers in the annual catalog – it comes from the Naturally Eclectic DSP. I love the combination of lemon lime twist, tranquil tide and soft sky and all done in a watercolor-like way.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Naturally Eclectic DSP - Happy Birthday Gorgeous

I took a piece of the DSP and matted it with what I thought was tranquil tide but it’s not until I was sitting down to write this that I realise it’s actually emerald envy! But it works. I wanted the panel the width of the card and rather than relying on perfect measuring, I actually had a slightly wider piece and trimmed off the excess with the trimmer after I’d glued it down to the whisper white card base. The sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and that really is stamped in tranquil tide – and that’s also the tranquil tide 1/2 inch finely woven ribbon making the tails of the rosette. I used my favourite stitched shapes framelits to cut out the sentiment – love the stitching. I popped the sentiment up with dimensionals to give the ribbon room.

Free stamps and bundles

Are you missing the bonus days coupons promotion that went on last month? Well I’ve got the answer for you. I’ve got a lot of retired stamps and bundles and not enough room on the bookcase where they live. So I decided to replace my previous customer loyalty program with a new one where I’m giving away free my retired product. The pages are over there on the left, but the links are also included below.

When you spend $50 (before tax and shipping) in my online store and use the current host code (above the shop now button over on the left), you can select a free stamp set (US only)

When you spend $75 (before tax and shipping) in my online store and use the current host code (above the shop now button over on the left), you can select a free bundle (US only).

If you spend less than $50, I’ll still send you 5 handmade cards along with a thank you card.

Obviously you can’t use the same order to apply twice for free product.

Here’s a couple of examples: Spend $50 and select a free stamp set, spend $100 and select 2 free stamp sets or spend $125 and select a free bundle and a free stamp set.

Once you have placed a qualifying order in my online store, (don’t forget the host code) just email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com to tell me which stamp set(s) and or bundle(s) that you would like me to send to you. Also include a second choice because I only have one of each item and it’s possible that a previous customer has already snapped up what you wanted. Or feel free to email to check that what you want is still available and I’ll reserve it for you.

I’m only part way though updating the lists and photos of the product, so check back frequently.

Enjoy!

Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies

I’m using the Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies but today I’m showing that they aren’t just for Christmas cards. A daughter of a friend of mine was graduating from her Indian dance academy but I was unable to attend but I wanted to send a card. And I felt that it should be a very rich looking card with masses of gold. So I started with the Star of Light heat embossed in gold on real red card stock.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies - Star of Light - Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Next I cut the borders around the edge using the Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies and glued a piece of gold foil behind before mounting on a card base of real red. Although this would make a beautiful Christmas card, I just needed a little congratulations for Sahana and found the perfect sentiment in the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. I heat embossed that too and cut it out, and the gold foil mat, with the layering ovals framelits. And I think I achieved my goal – elegant but very rich looking. What do you think?

Don’t forget to redeem your bonus days coupons if you earned them. They expire at the end of the month. Click on the image for help on how to redeem them.
