Merry Mistletoe

Today is the second day of sneak peek videos sharing content from the upcoming Holiday catalog. This is only available to demonstrators – but don’t forget that there’s an amazing joining deal right now so you could see the videos too. Yesterday’s was awesome (and all the products are on my wish list) and I’m sure today’s will be great too. This has of course put me in the mood for Christmas cards so I’m sharing one made with products from the annual catalog which are available to all right now – Merry Mistletoe and Sheet Music!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Merry Mistletoe - Sheet Music

The background is a new background stamp called Sheet Music and I stamped it in early espresso stamped off once onto very vanilla. I then added a skinny mat of early espresso to set off the music. MY banner, cut with the triple banner punch, is embossed with clear embossing powder which I sprinkled over the stamped image which I’d inked up in versamark and then cherry cobbler. Instant cherry cobbler embossing. I also added the sprig and embossed that in gold – that’s also from the Merry Mistletoe set. I felt that there was something missing and decided that I needed some ribbon so this card has been waiting for my most recent order which contained the gold natural trim which arrived on Monday. It completes the card perfectly.

Happiest of Days watercolored

Happiest of Days is a really fun set with lovely line images. I decided to add a watercolor wash to the cake on the stand and I really love how it came out.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Happiest of Days

I put both stamps on the large E block and stamped them in versamark at the same time and then sprinkled on the gold embossing powder. Once I’d heated it to that gorgeous gloss, I used an aquapainter to apply a soft wash of powder pink to the background. I did try to use the aquapainter for the cake stripes but they were too muted and didn’t match the berry burst card base. But here, I have a birthday card that is easily mass produced if you’re short of birthday cards. I’m sending more cards these days and I need to ensure that I have a good stock!

Ribbon of Courage pink

Today I’m sharing a slightly stepped up version of yesterday’s card using Ribbon of Courage. This one is for the grandmother of someone I spoke to last week who has learned that she has breast cancer.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Ribbon of Courage

I inked the beautiful flowered ribbon in versamark and then powder pink before stamping it and sprinkling with clear embossing powder and heating. And this way I get the lovely glossy raised effect. I did the same with the sentiment (also from Ribbon of Courage). I added a mat of powder pink to pull the card together and then put this onto a thick whisper white card base. I must try colouring in the ribbon soon – I think that will be beautiful too.

Do you have a long wish list? There’s an amazing joining offer of $52 extra supplies plus a free Christmas stamp set worth $20 along with the Starter Kit of $125 which is all a steal at $99 plus tax for $197 worth of product and free shipping. Ribbon of Courage

I really liked the Ribbon of Courage stamp set when I saw it at Onstage! but I wasn’t sure whether to get it since I didn’t know anyone struggling with cancer. In the end, I decided to get it for the beautiful sentiments and now as it turns out, I’m fighting cancer. Funny how things turn out isn’t it? So I decided to make a card specifically for lung cancer (white ribbon) because I want to send cards to other people fighting the same disease. I haven’t figured out the specifics yet, but I do at least have a card. It’s hard to photograph because I decided to go white on white but in person it’s really beautiful.Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Ribbon of Courage

I stamped the flowery ribbon in craft ink on whisper white cardstock and sprinkled on the white embossing powder and then heated it. Here’s a closer look:

Since the ribbon for lung cancer is white, I didn’t want to bring in any other colour on this one so the sentiment (also from Ribbon of Courage) is heat embossed in silver.  I glued the layer to a thick whisper white card base and that was it. A supremely clean and simple card.

Happiest of Days

I was making a few duplicate birthday cards since I need a few at the moment and as I was using the Happiest of Days set to do that, I decided to use another of the images in the set. I love the line drawings.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Happiest of Days - Whole Lot of Lovely DSP

I started by stamping the decorated sentiment in versamark and then heat embossing it with gold powder and then coloured in the rose and leaves using powder pink and pear pizzazz Stampin’ Write markers. I blotted it with a tissue in case I had any ink sitting on top of the embossing to prevent smudging. I intended to use dry embossing as a background but the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP called to me and well, you can see that I listened! And then I added a piece of the powder pink 3/8 inch shimmer ribbon and wow, I can see why two of the colors of this ribbon are backordered (only until the end of the month)! It’s really shimmery and really easy to tie – although I did my usual and the bow is a separate piece. It makes it easier to have the ribbon flat on the card if you do it in two pieces.

There are a few more images in this set; I think I may play later on today.
